Yeah I'm doing the T&T on Friday. Was just debating on whether or not I wanted to drop off Thursday night or leave at the buttcrack of dawn Friday morning to avoid traffic.

Spotted this in the welcome letter when I was looking for info on something else:

Gate Hours:

The front gate will be open until 11PM on Friday and Saturday nights. Open at 6AM on Sat & Sun.

You may also drop off your car on Thursday from 5PM to 10PM. If you drop off on Thursday, there is a $10 fee to help cover the cost of the gate guard.

Yeah saw that too. I would assume the gates would open on Friday by at least 7-7:30am since the T&T starts at 8:00?

So will tech be open on Friday?

I actually have my inspection done (paperwork done by NASA certified inspector) and just need the sticker.

Do you have info on the T&T?

I haven't received anything from them and can't find anything on the web site.

i.e. When is the driver's meeting, what will the groups be, what's the format.

Hypothetically speaking, let's say I haven't registered yet due to trying to troubleshoot a rattle... I plan to sign up for DE1 with a checkride for DE2. Is it possible to register online/onsite Thursday evening/Friday and show up Friday afternoon/evening at MSRH for the tech inspection, as I haven't done it before now...?

If the link is still active to signup then use it since although trackside registration is an option for just about all groups, it does cost a little more (extra hassle looking up membership stuff, entering stuff in database by hand, etc as I understand it).

DE1 might be a tough one due to instructor assignment though.

And I bet we can figure out getting you tech'd

Yeah, I'd gladly pay a PITA fee for signing up late.

I haven't had the chance to screw with the STI, I think it's the standard issue rear strut clunk that's developed over the last few months, but I want to be sure. It'll be tomorrow night before I have the time and motivation to crawl under it. Hopefully I'll go ahead and register then and the link will still be active. I can probably do DE2, but would like an instructor at least part of the time.

One of us can at least talk you through the line if that's all you need instructor help with. Stop by the MR2/RX8 pit area

and get to work slacker!

Is there a special pit pass required for that area?

Oh wait, that's the "enter at your own risk during drinking hours" area.

Question for Ken Brewer...how come Ryan Schimsk's 1:42.675 TTB track record from 2009 got taken down?

Anchient history question, lol! I believe it was due to no classing form on file to confirm the car fit TTB (or was even close) from what I can find in notes/emails/old points files. I'll have to see if Sean remembers anything more than that...?

Some of the 2009 stuff in general (besides TTU) may be slightly suspect just due to some newbie-to-the-region-tt-director figuring out how stuff works down here, heh. They caught a few things, but maybe not all, tough to say for sure. Before the 2009 season there weren't even records being tracked, cars being checked, driver licensing was pretty loosey goosey, etc. Tough to fry all those fish thoroughly all at once. Good news is just about all those iffy '09 records have been lowered since then by cars that have been checked alot closer in the more recent years. Only two non TTU 2009 TRs remain, and are still within reach of proper for the class cars, and those are two cars I do feel were classed right as one of them I helped with classing and compliance extensively in preparation for NASA Nationals and the other one I feel "ok" about as well. The TTU ones don't matter car wise because anything is legal for that class of course.

I figured it had something to do with confirmation of class legality. Not doubting the guy's talent though since he's raced in several pro series. Was curious though cause it was always a nice target to shoot for and I predict the winning TTB time this weekend will be a mid to low 1:42 anyway, especially since Ken O dipped into the high 1:42s last year going CW which is the slower direction.

Great weekend! Looking at this weekend's results, it looks like the records for TTU, TT1, TT2, TTB, TTD, and TTE were all broken. Nice job everyone!

Any idea where someone could find the race group track records?

Are we using mylaps.com anymore for individual session results or did the new website format scare us away? I noticed NOLA and AZ regions used mylaps for their 1st events this year. Mostly asking because not all the session results were posted to the timingscoring.drivenasa website like they were last year. Don't really care which source I get it from as long as its somehwere.
