peterswarts
Hi Folks, I'm in the process of upgrading my exhaust to get more flow. From the header back is basically a L that dumps in front of the rear wheel so it's easy enough to replicate larger. The question is should I be using use a flex coupler between the header and the exhaust pipe as there is with my current and more stock setup? I was thinking of not using one but then thought I could run into cracking issues with there not being enough flex play.
AZELISE
Definitely use something to allow movement. Some kind of flex and some method to allow the exhaust to move forward and aft. When I bought one of my used race cars it didn't have much of a provision for flex and had cracks in the header and exhaust.
ILIKETODRIVE
x2. I had a "test pipe" built with a large 2.5" flex pipe and a couple of flanges.

ELO168
For sure use the flex, I lost my exhaust when it cracked, Very dangerous.
