suck fumes Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 These are our exclusive fuel test ports that bolt directly onto the fuel rail without having to modify anything! There will be instructions included. I'm working on getting a picture of the install on the website here shortly. http://www.motorsportheaven.com/Spec-Iron-Fuel-Test-Port_p_707.html Quote
stevepoe Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 did I miss something ? why does spec iron need a fuel sample port ? Quote
olaaf Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 did I miss something ? why does spec iron need a fuel sample port ? i just went through the rules again, not required in the CCR nor the SI (excuse me, AIS) rulebook. SCCA requires them, though. Quote
suck fumes Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 We use them just so we can drain the fuel and get an accurate weight in the car and also be able to know how much we burned in a session at any given track. It pays for itself if you know you aren't going to run out of gas at a race. Quote

It pays for itself if you know you aren't going to run out of gas at a race. How does that work with the double hump gas tank? Ford says the only way to accurately weigh the car is with a full tank because there is no way to know what the fuel balance is between the two sides. i.e There is only one pump so when the pump side empties how much fuel is in the other side? There is a level float on each side (to average the tank level), but no equalization tube that I'm aware of. -Don Quote
