How to register for Hyperdirve

I'm signed up for the CMP event in May in DE-3. My son (age 23) is going to be home that weekend and I thought I'd sign him up to drive my car in the Hyperdrive but I have a few questions:

 

1) Does he need a NASA membership?

2) Is it going to confuse things for us both to be signed up with the same car and car number?

3) I'm paying for it so is it okay for me to get him a NASA login, sign him up and then use my credit card to pay?

4) We both have the same name, I'm junior he's the third. Will this cause confusion?

1) Yes.

2) Just add a 1 to his entry. (eg. 180 / 801) and simply use painter's tape or duct tape during his session of the day.

3) Yes.

4) No.

Thanks. I got him registered but it did not require a NASA membership that I can tell. But, I'm assuming he'll need a membership card to get signed in at the event so I'll go back and get him a membership.

 

I forgot to modify the car number but it will probably be okay since he'll only run once with DE-1 and I'll be in DE-3.

Follow-up question. My son is doing the Hyperdrive and I'm running DE-3 in the same car. Do I need to tell someone that when I have the car inspected? Do I put a DE-3 and DE-1 sticker on it?

 

Just trying to make this go as smooth as possible. It is going to be a little tricky as he goes out immediately after one of my sessions so I'll have to come off track a little early and I don't want there to be any confusion with the track workers, etc.

I think you will get de1 and de3 stickers when you tech. I have seen cars with two stickers at other events.

That is correct - we'll give him a HPDE 1 decal and you'll have your normal HPDE 3 decal. Once the car passes HPDE tech it is good for all HPDE sessions.
