Tjyak50 Posted August 11, 2014 Share Posted August 11, 2014 I had a cheap damper ($110) come apart and the timing started wandering which was annoying. Some other mechanical things broke also which were unusual things to break = Undamped vibrations can do odd things. I hated spending a lot of money on something I would never see, but I did it and feel good that it won't hurt me anymore (hopefully). So, if you are turning a lot of RPM... not overkill.
