tomfree Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Sold, car is in it's new home in DE. Life sometimes throws you curveballs and you end up doing things you REALLY didn’t plan to do. The wife and I are moving to the west coast in early 2015. A dedicated race car, trailer, and tow vehicle no longer fit my life very well. As a result, I’m selling my newly-completed Spec3. The car has not yet logbooked or raced. Add your transponder, vinyl, install the tow straps, and go racing. The car is a 1993 325i, 155K miles on the original motor and transmission. The car has been a southern car all it’s life, so it’s definitely not a rustbucket. I purchased the car in NC from Bret Luter of BMW Farm fame in 2012. It had been hit lightly in the front (pics available of the damage upon request) but the damage was all cosmetic. The damage was repaired, and the car was painted a very light gray a few months ago, ready for your livery. The car was built by Sean O’Connell, NASA Mid-Atlantic Spec3 racer, professional BMW tech, and all around e36 guru. My car was Sean’s 3rd complete Spec3 build. If there are any questions about the build that I cannot answer, Sean can definitely answer them. Sean did all the mechanical and safety work on the car. The car features an 8-pt custom bent, TIG-welded cage built to NASA CCR specs. The cage includes ankle/foot protection on both the driver and passenger side. Pics of the cage are in the album linked below. The car was finished in the spring of 2014 and has seen 3 HPDE events for shakedown. Sean has driven the car back-to-back with his current Spec3, and the car runs strong and handles well. The car is currently tagged and insured in MD, so it can be test-driven on the street. The car still has functional power windows except for the driver’s window. I have a used regulator and motor for the drivers door waiting to go in. The AC system is still in the car as well. The AC needs a charge, but could be functional again. All are easy weight-loss opportunities if you wish to pull them. I'm located in Rockville, MD, just north of DC. The car will be in MD with me until mid December. In December, I'll move the car and all spares to Wilson, NC for off-season storage. A couple of photos are at the bottom of this ad as well as a link to a larger photo album with detailed pictures of the cage. If you want any additional pictures, let me know. PM me with questions.
