You would be better off taking it to a shop at the tech done, trying to do it at the track can be a headake somtimes. what track are you going to visit? JKnight Posted October 23, 2003 Share Posted October 23, 2003 I have heard that NorCal run events generally don't see a lot of teching of cars at the track, and charge $10 when they do tech a car. With this in mind you may be better served by having the car tech'd by one of the shops listed on http://www.nasaproracing.com. Three out of four are disconnected numbers, and the other one says they don't do it anymore. I also had an older list that included one other place in the area. I called them and they said they'd do it for $20. I said thanks, but no thanks. If I'm going to pay $20, I'll just do it at the track rather than take off time from work. This is a joke! I've done these kinds of events with two other organizations, both of which had free tech inspections, and neither one was this much of a hassle. I called this morning and they said come by anytime and it would only take 10 minutes. I was in and out quickly and they were very friendly. Inspection was FREE as well! Not bad for a shop that only works on 100,000 Porsches and has a posted labor rate of $100.00 per hour! Good luck! Also, be sure to bring your helmet, I forgot mine!
