If not, then how a competitor gets to the curve of their choice is up to them. Some will be better at it or have more resources than others, but that applies to every aspect of racing. Should a car with more efficient aero be penalized too? What about bigger/better brakes? What about a competitor getting more or better data/telemetry/coaching that others do not? The list goes on... I never really ran the numbers until now and it seems as if most people have already realized the same. We have a good system, I say leave it as is.
