Rob O Posted January 14, 2015 Share Posted January 14, 2015 I talked to Ron Rigdon tonight and he ask if I would post this up for him. 2015 is here and for those who missed the meeting at the Toy Run we discussed the NASA Southeast Honda Challenge regional point system for 2015. The goal is to keep all current racers, attract new racers and increase contingency payout. HPD and Toyo pay regional championship awards unlike most NASA classes but instead of it being an award to the people who go to the most races or accumulate the most points, it will be an award to those who win and/or podium the most throughout the season. We will be implementing a "7 race drop" for the 2015 season for both H1 and H2, excluding DQs, to keep the points closer, more competitive and exciting. There will also be two weekends with double points and based on a single race. The first double points race will be the East Coast Championship Race at VIR and the second will be the December year end Toy Run Saturday's race at Road Atlanta. We have on the schedule 11 race weekends and 1 East Coast Championship weekend totaling 23 races. If we drop 7 the regional championship will based on your best 16 races. Make those 16 races count, stay on track and keep all your pistons inside the block! Good luck to everyone this year, lets have fun and get your friends off the fence and into comp school!
