Okay.. so I'm still learning.. 2: Are BOTH the final drive and limited slip attached together OR are they separate units that have to be purchased separately ? Thanks.. ILIKETODRIVE Posted February 24, 2015 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Hydro final drives and differentials fit Si/ZC cable transmissions, if I recall correctly. I don't recall the exact things needed but on D-Series.org there is a boatload of info between Aquafina and Mista Bone that would be able to sort it out. There is a marking on the transmission near the passenger axle seal that tells you what type of gearing/case it is. It's a circle with some combination of letter and numbers. I do remember this part being critical. The differential and final drive are separate units. The ring gear, which is 1/2 of the final drive, is bolted to the differential. The countershaft (output shaft) is the other 1/2 of the final drive. For simplicity, yes, Si gearing with a 4.9 would be best. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
