(Competitive) I'm looking at trying different tire makes next year and am very curious about the Avons. They look amazingly similar to the Hoosiers... zuperdave Posted September 7, 2005 Share Posted September 7, 2005 I've been running ONE SET of 13" enduro-shaved Toyo RA1's on a Honda Civic for a LONG time now, including 2 weekends at ET's Next Level racing school in Fernley and LOTS of NASA HPDE weekends and STILL have lots of tread left. I'm sure I paid less than $100 ea for them including the shaving. They sucked in the rain at Thunder Hill last fall, but I hear the full tread RA1s are really good rain tires... I dunno about the brands you mention, but my experience with the Toyos has been nothing less than amazing. They are also the spec tire for Honda Challenge...
