rrock
New guy here so please be gentle;). Are cross manufacturer engine swaps allowed in ST or any other class? In other words can I put a Chevy motor into a Datsun or Nissan?
Emmanuel B.
Yes. The ST rules are based on simply Power to weight ratio. You don't have any of the restrictions such as STL. An engine swap can also be performed within the PT rules system. A dyno reclass will need to be requested. That processs is also listed within the PT rules. Take a look at the 2015 Rules in the Performance Touring and Super Touring/Super Unlimited sections here: https://www.nasaproracing.com/rules. A weight to power ratio below 10.50 will almost guarantee that you are in ST, or any non-production car. That should allow you to choose which rules set to look at first between ST and PT

Grintch
Yes. The ST rules are based on simply Power to weight ratio. Not "simply", but mostly. A V8 swap is likely going to require a modified or replacement front cross memeber. Which would carry a Wt/hp adjustment (penalty).
