n8three
I'm driving a c5 corvette and will be installing a roll bar with door bars this winter. I drive this car in tt and hdpe 4. This is simply for my protection, and not intended to meet any certain roll bar spec, but of course I do want it to work. I've seen several bars/cages in corvettes with the main hoop attached to the bulkhead behind the seats. There seems to be a lot of debate about attaching to this area. I would assume that attaching directly to the frame beneath would be stronger, but I'm wondering if a bar attached to this bulkhead, in combination with the already beefy corvette B-pillar, would be adequate roll over protection. sperkins
While that may be better than nothing, it's really pointless to have a roll bar mounted there as it would provide hardly any real protection in a roll over.
