Spec86?

Has there been any consideration, request, or thought regarding a spec class for FRS/BRZ/FT86 'yotas? I don't see a whole lot of 86s out there (comparatively), but how many interested parties would need to voice their desires to get something like that organized?

The cars are still a bit too new for a lets get these cheap used cars and make them into inexpensive race cars class like Spec Miata. The first Miata's were IIRC around 10 years old when the Spec class was formed.

 

Of course if Subaru or Toyota would throw some money in....

 

There is a Pro Spec86 series in Australia or somewhere that's very similar to the MX-5 Cup.
