cstreit911
...seems like every other SM group has adopted them. Makes crossover to NASA expensive. Any plans to phase them in?
Rick Worth
I believe NASA has a contract with Toyo until 2020
pcdrj
Please never. Toyo RR's are good for 15-20 HC's depending on how well you break them in as compared to 4-6 with Hoosiers. This topic comes up often on other forums and there are some who want to change tire in SCCA.
cstreit911
Haha. Well I honestly don't care which tire is used - but it would be easier if everyone used the same one given the disparity between the two.
pcdrj
Totally agree. It would make for much easier tire management and cross over racing. Toyo's are a great balance between performance and longevity. Last weekend went from 15 session tires to 4 sessions for the race, same lap times. They also have a better contingency program at the regional level. I'd love to see SCCA switch over.
