Does the factory double roll bar on the 2008 mx5 retractable hardtop qualifiy as a roll bar for HPDE ?

Hmm.... let's take a look at what this car has:

That is not even remotely tall enough to qualify as a roll bar, if that is extended?

Even some off-the-shelf bolt-in roll bars are inadequate, like the one in the NB Miata above. I drove this car at ECR and this picture tells a painful story - too short for me.

Some might not agree with this "broomstick test" above, either. Because the factory windshield frame collapses quite easily.

 

I don't know where you live but locally here in Dallas/Ft. Worth you can call Track Dog Racing and they sell a full line of Hard Dog roll bars. If they cannot supply you with what you need, give us a call at Vorshlag.
