geeveepee
In endurance racing, will ST5 be classed in E1? ...sounds about right under the current enduro rules. I've sent an e-mail to those who decide on Enduro rules to make a decision and let you guys know. Who would that be, Greg? ST4 and ST5 present some challenges for enduro classing because they introduce some rule limitations that can't be easily addressed on the enduro side with just engine maps and wheel/tire sizes. The front fascia and fender flare limits make it difficult for an ST4 car to be competitive in E0 vs an ST3 car and bumping ST4 down to E1 will make ST5 cars with base model HP limits uncompetitive there too. What's your recommendation on how to get those issues addressed?

CRallo
So does this mean that BTM Spoilers and wings are a no go? Even though most/all are basically for looks? 6.1.4 “BTM Aero” Modification Factor Vehicles that maintain the unmodified Base Trim Model (BTM) body lines, do not have non-BTM aerodynamic aides or modifications, and do not have a rear wing or rear spoiler may assess the Modification Factor for “BTM Aero” in calculating the “Adjusted Wt/HP Ratio”. Under this specific rule, an aerodynamic aide is considered non-BTM if it did not come configured on the base trim model (BTM) of the vehicle from the manufacturing factory. Except for those vehicle-specific higher level trim models (nonBTM) listed in Appendix B, there is no updating or backdating across trim models or the addition of dealer installed options permitted. and on that subject... How in the world is a WING basically FREE just for giving up the BTM aero bonus?!?! That's only 85 lbs on a 3,000 lb car!

Salvisol
Why is there a maximum horsepower limit in the rules? Seems like it'll keep some cars out that could make that 14:1 lbs/hp ratio. I have a 2003 350Z and my current starting point in the ST rule set is ST4 due to the cars factory 287fwhp. The ST4 12:1 would mean I would have to invest a good amount of money on power mods. I'd rather keep the engine closer to stock for reliability and also cost benefit. Honestly a 350Z might not be competitive due to the tire width limitation in ST5, but it would be great to just have a chance at lower budget time trialing and W2W with the car. codename Bil Doe
Could you please clarify the ST5 remote reservoir rule? The way it is written now, multi-adjustable shocks with adjustments on the body of the shock are legal (plenty of shocks like this) while a non-adjustable remote reservoir is illegal. Is the intent of the rule to outlaw remote reservoirs or adjustable shocks?
