Richard Pryor1548534703 Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 The curent issue of GRASSROOTS MOTORSPORTS has a full color photo of our fearless leader, Tony Guaglione, in his Mustang...of course, he's behind a Camaro in the photo, having been passed by Al Fernandez (really great shot of Al)....looks like all NASA members are going to be getting GRM instead of the NASA house rag...great improvement. bsim Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 Yeah, the 'Gopher Hunter' is fast - I wonder if he was lapping Tony again? Damn, where's MY copy??? Quote
Members Al F. Posted May 2, 2003 Members Posted May 2, 2003 I haven't seen it yet either Brad...has anyone gotten a copy of GRM through their Nasa membership? I think Tony likes to cruise behing my Camaro and reminisce about how great life was when he got to drive it. Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 Correction, that is the #65 of Scott Gregory - check the lower windshield Quote
Richard Pryor1548534703 Posted May 3, 2003 Author Posted May 3, 2003 Hey, who can tell which car it is...Tony's had so many, in fact if only Tony's ex-cars showed up for a race there'd still be a full field....I've been a subscriber to GRM for at least a decade.back when it was an autocross magazine...now it's the best zine out there for us racers...though RACER magazine run a close second...and I sure miss O TRACK..rp Quote
Tony G Posted May 3, 2003 Posted May 3, 2003 Come on you guys keep it straight, I'm number 55, remember the one who is so much faster than the Chevy's that its almost impossible to actually catch me on film in my Ford Mustang!! I have to admit, its really fun to see all my cars out there though.. Tony Quote
rdracer Posted May 4, 2003 Posted May 4, 2003 I rhink the photo is great along with the rest of grassroots zine.... only two things bothered me about this issue..... one that they didn't .... hardly ever mention CMC.... only AI and AIX.... and that like the last issue they don't list any NASA events in the calender section..... remember I brought that up last month too .... and here I thought they had a following out or something.... only to hear that as members we are gonna get the rag with the NASA membership..... one hhing though.... I'm paid up on my subscription for at least the next 2 years..... Oh well .... great magazine like you richard I have been a subscriber since before it went thru the chances..... like from the days of AUTO X isn't that what they called it.... I don't really remember.... It is great to see NASA getting so really good print.... I hope to see everyone at Willow Springs if my life can settle down for just one weekend and the car is ready....(almost there.... really) Bud Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted May 4, 2003 Posted May 4, 2003 Hopefully that is a fluke or just a feature this month concentrating on AI/AIX. Maybe the Speednews is going to focus on different NASA race groups each month. I notice the car mags like to talk bunches about AI/AIX and mention CMC as a footnote. I realize big hp and a ton o' mods is sexy and our stock-type set-ups and 230hp is not to the car mag ilk. I do think it IS sexy that we have cars that run, after we beat on them mercilessly weekend after weekend, and that our driving skills keep us at the level of many AI/AIX drivers in spite of our hp disadavantage!
