bsim Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 Never been to Sears - which configuration do we run? NASCAR? AMA? Some combination? THX... Quote
Tony G Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 We will use the normal config. 11+ turns, not the Nascar chute, seems the big boys just cant handle the turn 4 to turn 7 config. like us CMC folks. Tony Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 I can't see the NASCAR boys doin' the Carousel. I think there would be a lotta tire eatin' there! Quote
Members Al F. Posted June 22, 2003 Members Posted June 22, 2003 I think they have enough problems getting cars to finish without it! Either that or they get more grand stand seating with their configuration. Quote
bsim Posted June 22, 2003 Author Posted June 22, 2003 On a side note - I wanna be Boris Said if I grow up. Quote
ToTheLimit Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 well..I did actually beat Boris Said once...one car length! in 1992 SCCA 3-hr enduro at Willow Springs..He was driving one of the NoFear Dodge Stealths for the Simos. I blocked him in turn 9 and beat him to the finish and he flipped me off on the cool down lap... Per #81 CMC ( R.I.P. DAD) Quote
Tony G Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 Sounds just like the Boris I know of...he won't win today..just watch. Tony Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 Tony, as a true Boris fan I know that only too well! Quote
ToTheLimit Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 hey, Boris would be a great driver to invite for next years "NEXTEL CUP AT INFINEON RACEWAY CMC CHALLENGE RACE.." (we need more product endorsement) Quote
rdracer Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 Boris, set the record, yea...... but as for the race.... Ron Fellows did the best drive.... he is super smooth and clean and after the double pass for the lead..... well did Nascar really have to throw that Yellow.... or did they just want one of the good 'OL Boys to win. Did anyone notice that after he was punted out he still came back for a great finish. Watch Speed News Nascar Edition and you'll see what I mean about the yellow. I mean they really wouldn't want a "Road" racer to win, Now would they?..... along those lines though.... Jeff Gordon did a great job in Montoyo's F1 car in the Trading Paint Special .... gotta love traction control.... kinda like Grand Turismo Quote
racercosmo1548534707 Posted June 25, 2003 Posted June 25, 2003 Sounds just like the Boris I know of... Tony As Mike Davis says, being around Boris is like teeing off a golfball inside your shower. Quote
bsim Posted June 25, 2003 Author Posted June 25, 2003 Sheesh, I didn't say I wanted to MARRY him, only to BE him! That joker races ANYTHING, anytime, anywhere. Much better than MY job! Quote
Richard Pryor1548534703 Posted June 25, 2003 Posted June 25, 2003 Hey, you better not want to marry Boris since you just got hitched this week!! Congratulations, and does your bride know what a confirmed racer she married? We'll know if you cut your honeymoon short and show up at Sears Point this weekend. Thirty years ago Joanna and I got married on Friday and headed up to Sears Point for a weekend race. Now that's the way to start a marriage. And why wasn't there a CMC bachelor party? Congrats again...Richard Quote
