Don Campbell Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be racing in the World Challenge GT at Infineon Raceway on July 24-27. My ALMS ride didn't pan out but it might for Laguna in September, so just World Challenge this time. The schedule is practice Thursday and Friday, qualify Saturday, race on Sunday. I have a limited number of free four day passes set aside for you. Let me know who is going for sure, no maybe people. I just re-designed my website which includes some CMC photos and in-car videos. Check it out. Don Campbell 2002 CMC season champion www.campbellracing.com [email protected] Quote
Steve Graves1548534707 Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 Hi Don, How goes it? I'll be there saturday and sunday. Per and I were going to run the 6-Hour nite enduro at B-Willow on saturday, but I waited a little too long to get my provisional license. (Dang). What time does Qualifying start on sat.? I think Per is going to try and make it too. See Ya, Esse' #81... Quote

Members Al F. Posted July 19, 2003 Members Posted July 19, 2003 Hey Don...if you still have tickets, my fiance and I would like to go. Quote
Steve Graves1548534707 Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Anyone who is going to check out Don's race at Sears Point on Sunday morning? Let's meet up 1/2 hour or so before the Race at the top of the grandstands above turn #9. Great place to check out the action, now that they took out the hills above the esses. And probably the fastest section of the track also. And ALMS, yeahah!! Go Bentley, Go MG, Go Cadillac, Go Panoz, Take a break Audi. See Y'all there, Esse' #81... (P.S. I hope the grease-monkeys leave the track alone this weekend) Quote
ToTheLimit Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 Hi Guys.. Don called me after practice and he was 8th fastest...Fastest Rookie.. ( I actually had the practice results faster on internet than he had at the track).. Steve "ESSE" is already at track..I am heading there tomorrow morning to help out in any way I can... And AI competitor Kevin Chambers is racing his Corvette too..not doing too bad either..If you dont know Kevin..introduce yourself to him..he is a nice guy.. I used to race with him in AI before he bought the Semi-truck and stuff.. NASA drivers going to the big time.. Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 I had a great time hanging out at Don's pit Sunday! The highlight of the day was Don's tearing up the field, coming from second from last, and turning a 5th quickest overall 1:43. Don was also the fastest Corvette in GT. Coming around T11 on lap 10 I believe he was smoking heavily and blew his motor in spectacular fashion, flames coming out from the bottom of the car in front of the grandstand. He remained calm and put the car on the access road to the left coming up the hill to T2 where fire crews continued to treat the car to be sure even after Don's on board system put it out. I have to say our ex CMCer was in great form after the race when, inspite of blowing two engines this race weekend, he put on his team uniform and greeted folks when his car was put on display at the KSJO booth (one of his sponsors). Even put little kids in his seat! Other drivers might have sulked in their trailer, but not Don! Way to go! Quote
