Tony G Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 Dramatic improvements were this weekends story. Al Fernandez, Mike Plum, Tim Bullock , Mike Donahoe, Erick Van Wagenen and Pat Stone all turned 2:07 lap times! Mike Plum, and Erick Van Wagenen actually went into the 2:06 member club. I think this is awesome, and I would like to say WELL DONE to all of you. At this point anyone can win any race at any given time, which is exactly what I want to see in our series. Great job everyone! Tony Guaglione. CMC Chief Director Quote
cmc38camaro Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I was most impressed by a pass that Tim Bullock made this weekend. After the restart in the first race on Saturday, I'm following Erick and Don as they battle side by side through 9, 10 & 11. All the while I'm looking for a way to get around, but not finding it. Along comes Tim with a lot of momentum and passes me in 11 and continues on to quickly get by Don and Erick. Three in one shot, great driving Tim. Mike Quote
Members Al F. Posted September 11, 2003 Members Posted September 11, 2003 It was indeed great driving by Tim. It wasn't Erik however, it was me. I tried going inside of Don into 9. He gave me room, but was going to make me work for it! I couldn't complete the pass, and we drag raced all the way to 10. We go side by side again, deep into the turn. Coming out I was clear and started drifting to the outside, but as I roll into the gas there's nothing there but surges and stumbles!! I throw my hand up, waving, because I'm worried Don is about to run me over. Meanwhile Tim comes up beside me on the inside! The motor catches again, and now its Tim and I drag racing to 11. Well, Tim had the line, and I caught some oil, or oil-dry...I went straight into the dirt, and I mean straight into the dirt. Not to be deterred, I got back on the gas and bounced and slid my way back on the track on the back straight. Tim did one hell of a job seeing the opportunity and capitalizing on it. 3 positions just like that! Mike, you and Don get much credit for not piling into me too. I got lucky...passed Don, and got passed by Tim, so I broke even in spite of off-roading. Quote
cmc38camaro Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 You're absolutetely right Al, how could have I forgotten you going off and staying hard on the gas the whole time. I guess I spent too much time following Erick last weekend. Mike Quote
