bsim
Looked at the NASA site - I see they've added a date at Sears for November 23nd and 23rd for all NASA classes, including CMC. Will this be the 'real' last event of the season, or will that still be the 7th and 8th? Just curious...
Tony G
OUR LAST DATE IS THE 8/9th AT SEARS. THE FINAL BLAST OF THE YEAR! TONY
Richard Pryor1548534703
When you say blast are you talking about the sound your Ford engine will make during our 3 lap Ford vs. Chevy Sunday grudge race? Just had the new CMC #7 1993 Camaro dynoed...came in at 232hp and 273 ft/lb torque without the restrictor plate...with the 100 # weight penalty this should be right on...although with me in the car and the higher weight for the 4th gens, the superior handling (and yes, driver skill) will put the Camaro first at the finish line....we need an interesting bet for this race...any suggestions, Tony? NickS
Hey Richard - Can I get a piece of that? How about my 220 rwhp / 288 rwtq 305 in a 3280lbs 3rd gen camaro against your new fangled 4th gen camaro with one of those fancy LT1 engines in it? - Nick
Richard Pryor1548534703
Nah, Nick....it's strictly going to be a battle-of-the-brands for the new cars...we already know the third gen camaros rule over the Fords so nothing to prove there....and the match race with Tony's Mustang and my Camaro will prove which is the fastest of the new body styles...and since Tony trounced everyone at Buttonwillow this last weekend it seems his is the car to beat now...and even though I haven't run in a CMC race in a long time, I'm sure it will all come back quickly...and then again I do have the superior make car so that will make up for my driving rustiness....what's that old saying about age and experience?...see you at Sears in a few weeks....so are we BBQing at the track or a sitdown at Chevy's or?....I'm going to see if I can put away as many margaritas as Greg.....Bubba Gurney
Tony G
Hey Nick, I do have a job for you though. You can throw the green flag, and give me the checkered flag when I cross the finish line first ... I'm thinking a $100 bet would go well with this too! Richard Pryor1548534703
All right, Tony, $100 it is....and, hey, let's do a standing start...the Camaro's torque advantage shoud be offset by your 20 year younger reflexes....once I'm ahead of you in turn two you're going to see the widest Camaro in history...rp
racercosmo1548534707
...the Camaro's torque advantage shoud be offset by your 20 year younger reflexes....rp WOW Tony, you don't look 50.
Richard Pryor1548534703
OK Cosmo, just because I'm now eligible for Social Security and would use Grecian Formula on my hair (if I had any left) is no need to add two years to my age...see you at Sears..I'll be the one assisted from his walker to the racecar by two nubile young nurses dressed in...wait, my mind wanders; an effect of my age....actually being "older" has its advantages in racing as I can stay at the Motel 6 and eat at Denny's all with a great senior citizen discount...now if only Toyo offered the same benefit...and I've found that with my delayed reflexes it really works out better for braking on the race track as I frequently miss my braking marks and go in way deeper than I intended, and most of the time I don't spin or hit anything (but my eyesight is getting so bad I couldn't tell anyway)...this is the reason I have a prescription windshield and a rearview mirror that enlarges objects (otherwise I'd never be able to see that speck of a Mustang that Tony drives)...see you at Sears...Richard
