bsim
From the CCR, not only do our belts need to replaced every two years, but the window net too! Thought you'd like to know before getting bounced at a race weekend...
Greg R.
Thanks Brad for the reminder. I spoke with Simpson and they have a program where you can send in the tags off your out-of-date harness and get a great deal on their new stuff shipped direct from factory. The new Platinum Series uses polyester webbing for less stretch and runs about $95 for a latch and link 6 point harness under this program. Lady in Nomex
Greg and all, I went through my local Simpson dealer here in Sacramento, Hunt Performance, and sent in my 2" Autopowers for credit on a nice 3" set of Simpsons. Great deal, and they don't care whose belts you send them! For you Sacramento area folks, Hunt Performance carries the full line of Simpson. They are extremely nice and helpful folks even though most of their customers don't turn right!
Kevin Hall
Racer Wholesale and Capitol Motorsposrts have about the best deal on belts and nets you'll find. Racer Wholesale has GFORCE, they are SFI rated, and there are 3 color choices. Capitol has M&R belts in lots of nifty colors, for about the same price, I think they run about 60 bucks for a 5 point. The net will set you back about 13 bucks. Capitol markets to cheap skate Stock Car racers, and seems to have the best prices on belts and nets. As far as the M&R quality, I've tested them several times in short track land at Orange Show Speedway and Blythe, and my son hit the wall hard enough to bend his cage at Blythe, and the belts held up fine.
