Soon as I put my tranny back in (yet Again!), I'm out to B-Willow for at least one C.B. friday before the C.B. friday of the race weekend. (Hey, I haven't been on track since last October! You all better Hope I get some time in before driving alongside me!) See Ya'll Later, Esse' #81...
Snakin
G'day, another CMC newcomer here. I expect to be there pending some work being done on my car. I will sign up accordingly as soon as I know it's ready. I look forward to meeting everyone. See Ya Brett
Lady in Nomex
Welcome Brett and Carson, I am trying to get everything done here too with the car, and the new truck (need to install trailer brake, get cap for my tools). I plan to be there for "cheatin' bastard Friday," a colorful phrase coined last year by rookie Al Fernandez.
bsim
Hey Brett - good to see you might make it. You'll have a blast with us. Jules - I'm planning on being at C.B. Friday too. This'll only be my 2nd time at BW, and they've gone and changed us from #1CCW, to #1CW. D'oh! I guess I'll just watch my tape from last year in reverse. kincy
I haven't run BW much but I recall that the Talledega turn is much easier CW. However the Bus Stop is a real bitch coming that way. We will have fun whatever. Perry PS, Brad what's up with the rear end? Mine was very noisy after the last race Sunday in Fontana. So I will have it pulled this week or next. Remember its only $ and you can't take it with you (according to King Tut).
bsim
Mine was the pinion bearing I believe. It got REAL hot, and boiled the fluid (gee, that explains the smell). Once the fluid was messed up, the diff wasn't getting the cooling and lube it needed. So, a rebuild + an Auburn diff + new 3.42's + a new associate sponsor = me being at BW! Thanks to Hooper's Rear End Exchange!
Kevin Hall
We were really bummed about missing California for our first race. It was right in the back yard, and I had cheated a little by practicing during VARA's lunch break runs. The car will be ready to rock for Buttonwillow. The info on the exhaust post was good, we're getting ready to go to the muffler shop next week. Where can I find more info on CB Fridays? I want all the track time I can get as I sold my last race car in July. I'd like to join the fun on 4-2. What's the hot ticket for lodging at Buttonwillow? See you there-Kevin Hall #
Lady in Nomex
Kevin, for most test days NASA is not involved and you need to contact the track, in this case go to http://www.buttonwillowraceway.com and all their testing info is there. You usually have a choice of a full day or 1/2 day. BW if I remember right makes you buy a $75 testing card once yearly before you can buy a test day there. You can always call them to go over this ahead of time, the office gal there is really nice and will be glad to help you out. For hotels most folks like the Motel 6 and Super 8 in BW. These are cheap and clean. The Motel 6 has nice single occupant rooms in the back away from the freeway, Super 8 is closer to the freeway and a little bit more noisy. Motel 6 has an internet reservation discount. The last time I was through that way the Lost Hills exit gas stations north of the track were a little cheaper than BW. Gas prices in BW are not bad compared to the rest of the I5 ripoffs. Most folks buy their race gas at the Chevron and Texaco in BW, Texaco has a cash discount. See you there! Tony G
This event is a N.Cal and S.Cal event which means its going to be HUGE. We will have a little bit of this and a little bit of that meaning, just hang in there and follow my lead. Please come to the Mandatory CMC drivers meeting at Greg Robinsons trailer ( # 12 Red Mustang) area right after Saturday and Sunday's morning practice,it is VERY IMPORTANT that you attend or you wont know what the hell is happening and you will be sent to the back of the pack if you miss it. I have several announcements that will be made at Saturdays Meeting. This is going to be fun... Thanks ! Tony Guaglione
bsim
Kevin - regarding C.B. Fridays: Last year at the last Buttonwillow event, I just showed up on Friday. I got to the gate, got my pass (I think it's $10 for the weekend), and parked. Unloaded the trailer, had a bite to eat, then went back to the gate, and paid for 1/2 day practice. Simple. They ran 1/2 hour sessions, open wheel, then closed, over and over again all day. I think the last session was over at 4:00 though, so don't expect practice all day. Tony, can we get a 'scheduled' time for meetings at each race weekend? I like the idea of meeting at Greg's right after AM practice. Can we keep it? Tony G
Good point Brad, I think we should just make it mandatory to meet at My trailer or Gregs from now on after each practice session each day. Sometimes things change through out the day and we may have to deviate a little, but we can work on that as the day progresses. thanks, Tony

Kevin Hall
Thanks for the info everyone. The wife refuses to stay at Motel 6, so it's likely Super 8 for us. If we can run all day on Friday, that's probably what we'll try to do. After watching the IMAX NASCAR movie last night, we're all itching to get back in a racecar. Our #82 is painted like the old Penske Trans-Am Javelins, so you'll know which one is us. Where can I get the Camaro Mustang Challenge windshield decal, and the NASA and TOYO stickers? We've got all the other vinyl. Thanks for all the help, and encouragement. Kevin Hall #
Tony G
Kevin, I will have those for you,and glad you are joining us! Tony
WhiteLX
I'll be there taking pictures again and trying to learn more about the series and setups. Mind if I come to the meeting after practice? I plan on being there both days. I'll probably stay at the Motel 6 since I can make a reservation. Its too bad they aren't running HPDE 1/2/3, I really wanted to try out the new suspension on my Mustang, but I am way too slow and inexperienced for HPDE 4. Tony G
Eric, Yes,please come to the meeting and make sure you find me , I will be at the # 12 Car. Ask questions, take pictures! We welcome you to CMC. Tony Guaglione
Tony G
Update, We will be running with the BMW group all weekend. We chose to go this route instead of mixing it up with the ASC,A/I ,AIX, FFR and what ever else... 50 plus cars. This way its us and BMW only and completely separate starts as usual..like having the track to ourselves. Should be 20 BMW's and 20 CMC cars. Hit a BMW and go home..thats the rule,no contact at all. Thanks, Tony
bsim
I like running w/the BMWs. Some slower than us, some faster - it's a fun group to run with.
Lady in Nomex
I like the Bimmers too - was surprized how close they were willing to get to me on occasion concerning the edict about contact! They are good drivers though.
bsim
So do they have a rule about contact too? You know, hit a CMC car and go home? I'm sure they'd be a bit bolder, knowing that the responsibility of contact rests on us...
Lady in Nomex
Brad, LOL! I think if they hit one of us the Bimmer God would reach down and swipe them and their car from the planet earth!
