Fuel pressure regulator HELL

Hey all,

As most of you know I've been having problems with the car going lean and melting pistons. In an effort to avoid this I've replaced all of the sensors and fuel delivery components except the fuel pressure regulator.

I'm still using the stock unit. I've ordered and received 3 Holley adjustable regulators and all of them leak vacuum and therefore will cause the lean condition that I'm trying to avoid. When I called summit they don't have a substitute to the Holley which is a direct bolt in replacement for a '91 Camaro.

Any suggestions??

Thanks!

ED...here's a little trick from the Showroom Stock GT days...use the stock regulator and put a nickel (yes, that 5 cent part) betwen the diaphram and the housing..that's good for a 4-5# increase in fuel pressure...check your pressure stock and add money as needed...don't use dimes as they cost twice as much as nickels and give you only half the pressure!!! you should be running 53-54 # pressure in a TPI system...rp
