Steve Graves1548534707
Dang, I wish I could be there ( 23 Cars? And my favorite track, chit!). My car's still up in the air tho. Tranny goes back in tommorrow. (Make Sure, if you have someone rebuild your T5, that they Replace the Interlocks!). And the new 3.73 locked and heat-cambered Aussie 9-bolt goes in too. Did have the 3.45, but word is that those are better for the TPIers, and the 3.73 better suited to us Carb-addicts. But Per and I are going down to W-Springs this weekend. Throwing in the passenger seat, so Per and I can try to scare the crap out of some unsuspecting group 4 students. Or, actually, show them how fun it can be to drive an American V8 at Speed. It's already in the triple digits down/up here in Paso Robles, but it's supposed to cool off a bit by this weekend. I'm sure it will be beautiful at T-Hill. Hey Kevin and Dave, if'n you guys aren't doing anything this weekend (other than working on your car) cruise up to Willow Springs and take the car for a spin, Otay? Don't Even get discouraged about how long it takes to get your car dialed in. I've had my car 3 1/2 years now, and things are just now starting to really come together. As long as you keep progressing, you can't go wrong. Everybody have a good time, Be Safe, and we'll see you at B-Willow. Esse' #81... Kevin Hall
Steve, thanks for the invite, but Dave and I both have 3 day tickets to California Speedway, and my wife has informed all of us that nothing is to interfere with her Nextel cup weekend. Now, I'm not sure if having your wife so addicted to racing that we get edicts like that is a good thing or not, but I'll live with it. Talk about a tough situation we've got 4 places we could race this weekend otherwise-Thunderhill, Willow Spirngs, Irwindale or Perris! ToTheLimit
hey how did things go at t-hill. who won , who was on pole and what else happened? I this is the first CMC race I have not attended in almost 3 years! Per
cmc38camaro
Per, Too bad you couldn't make the race, it was another fun and exciting weekend. Team Hiline prove to be the fastest over the course of the weekend. Both Drivers kept the #55 Mustang up front. James Griffith continues to show outstanding speed and ability. Big Al Frenandez ran up front all weekend. I qualified 2nd on both days and blew both starts then had to work hard for ok finishes. Tony was on the pole Saturday and James took Sunday's pole. See you Buttonwillow in June. Mike
Tony G
Per, We missed you and Steve. Temps were ok on Saturday, and super hot on Sunday. We had super clean racing, and gave A/I a run for their money. I won the CMC race on Saturday, and finished in the middle of the A/I pack, and I have to say the A/I guys were a pleasure to run with as usual. A/I has a totally different look to itself this year, with some really great people in the series. CMC times were really fast.. in the 2:05's !! Race report will come out with the details. Had a great time with everyone, and the Saturday night dinner was fun! Tony
Steve Graves1548534707
Yep, it was the same at Willow Springs. No wind and not too hot on saturday, but Cooking on sunday. We chased a vibration all weekend, and believe it's either the drive-shaft or the U-joints. Of course, since it wasn't a Race weekend, I didn't bring all the spares. Including the steel drive-shaft. I'm gonna wait till tommorrow, then throw it in the car and see if that works (Too dang hot today). Maybe running a little too rich also. The engine seems to be vibrating a bit different than it used too. Just doesn't feel quite right. Need to do a leak-down test, clean out the carb, check the timing, check/adjust the valves, put in new rear sway-arm bushings, Then see how things feel. Hey Kevin and Dave, was it Hot in the stands at Cal Speedway or what? Great race, too bad LaBonte didn't have about ten more laps, (oh yeah, And a little more fuel). See all you C.B.'s at B-Willow on the friday B4. Esse' #81... P.S. Ran into a couple more people that are running school-groups, and interested in joining us in the future. Told them to come check us out at B-Willow.
Kevin Hall
Steve, Sounds like we had the "hot ticket". It was brutal all three days, but Saturday and Sunday were really tough, and we live out here! Dave (the dog) had hot passes and spent the weekend on pit road, I think I saw him thumb his nose at me from Brian Vicker's pit. We thought Harvick had the right idea, he topped up with one to go on the second to last stop, which paid off since he went from mid pack to 9th at the end, too bad Gordon didn't have a heavier foot and go the way of the Dodges, and Bobby. It was amazing how in the last 5 laps everyone who wasn't a Gordon fan became a Labonte fan! Time to get the car put back together in time for Buttonwillow! See you there.
