Where to stay in Sonoma?

The wives are so thrilled with the fine accomodations at the Motel 6 in Buttonwillow that they are looking ahead to Sears Point in September. Can anyone tell us the hot ticket on cheap rooms up North?

Kevin,

Usually NASA has a deal with the Inn Marin which is close by the track.

Thanks Julie.

Any idea what roomw will set us back, or contact info?

Hope things go well on the house. I think the reason we've stayed put for 15 years is because buying ours was such an ordeal.

Will we see you at Willow Springs in July? That's the closest track to us other than CA speedway.

Hi Kevin,

I think the Inn Marin was a $70 per night deal if I remember right.

We have stayed put here for 17 years and are crammed in this house as tight as you could be! We are so happy to get a place with enough room for us! I had planned not to do Willow Springs, works out I will likely be moving during that time anyway. Have fun!

So is the Inn Marin still the CMC choice for hotels for our upcoming Infineon races?

Those Mustang drivers that find their racing budget consumed with blown engines, transmissions and rear ends stay at the budget INN MARIN...Chevy racers who only have the maintenance cost of adding air to their Toyos stay across the freeway at the Marriott Courtyard Novato, which is around $110 per night with AAA (or in my case AARP) discounts...number is 415-883-8950..

My travel agent-Holly booked us into the Inn Marin, it weren't cheap, but the internet access is critical for my daughter, who is certain race weekends were created to ruin her life.

Richard-Part of the reason we run a Camaro is those ford parts were way too pricey for us San Bernardino hicks, we're happy to stay at the cheap digs.

The Inn Marin is currently quoting $105 a night for NASA members.

Is that the best deal out there?

There may be some cheaper hotels in the Vallejo area at the 80 frwy, only 15 min from the track.

Check them out to see.

My wife will only go with me to Sears Point because we stay at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael, about 15-20 minutes away from the track. It's about 120.00 for a suite, includes breakfast buffet and evening cocktail hour.

It beats shoving everyone into the truck and hitting the drive thru on the way to the track. Or paying for food at the track.

And then you get drinks when you get back from the track.

I like the Embassy Suites idea.

For the cheaper rates go to Motel 6 in Petaluma $56.

Holy Cripes, I agree wtih Richard!

Actually, not so much the Chevy vs. Ford thing, but Inn Marin only had Jacuzzi suites left available when I called last night.

And after they laughed when I asked if the jacuzzi came 'stocked', I figured I'd do the Courtyard.
