The NASA Texas CMC and AI racers will decend upon Motorsport Ranch this weekend to battle it out on one of Texas' best race tracks.

REGISTRATION, CHECK-IN, FACILITY ACCESS at MSR June 4-6, 2004:

 

Friday:

*Gates open at 5:00 PM.

*Registration – 5 to 9:30 PM.

*Set-up your paddock space.

*Gates close at 12AM.

*Key available for Emergency from Code 3 Cookers.

*Late arrivals: please call in advance at 281-802-9863 or 817-243-2286 to make arrangements for facility access.

 

ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS:

Request: Please Check-in/Register on Friday evening.

Why: Helps us to serve you more efficiently. Avoid Saturday Morning Rush.

Refreshments and Snacks Provided.

Saturday & Sunday - SPECTATORS WELCOMED - GATE FEE:

*Each Driver - three guests are free.

*Children 12 and under are free.

*MSR members are free as well. Working with MSR to get a member list.

*All others: $5 for a one-day pass and $10 for a two-day pass.

*Please be aware that all that enter the facility must sign a waiver and wear an arm band.

*Guest list at gate.

*Pre-registered drivers: name in alphabetical order by last name on a list- three spaces for your guest. Only need to provide us the name of your three guests if you know that you will have more than three people over 12 years of age and want to designate which three should be able to enter without paying a gate fee.

*Instruct your guest to identify that they are the guest of “Your Last Name, First Name†at the gate. We will insert their name on your guest roster.

*Please inform your guest that they will be parking their vehicles on the outside of the gate and will walk into the facility.

*Not pre-registered, please provide the following at the gate:

*Identify that you are a participant

*Provide your name, type of entry (Racing, DE, Race Craft/Comp. Licensing)

*Arm-bands will be issued to all that enter.

*All drivers will need to check in with registration. Be prepared to show your waiver arm-band.

*Please be prepared to show the arm-band each time you enter the gate.

 

PARKING and PADDOCK SPACE:

 

NASA Texas’s J.C. Matus, his helpers and the greeters will provide you with directions. To conserve space for the participants, please adhere to the following:

* Please move your open trailers to a designated location in front of the entrance gate, unless your trailer contains items that are essential to support of your track or racing vehicle

* Each participant allowed one support vehicle or enclosed trailer in the paddock space. Please disconnect your tow vehicle from enclosed trailers and move to designated location in front of gate entrance.

* All other vehicles will be required to park is designated location outside of gate

 

 

Groups and Required Identification on Cars (On both doors or sides; In addition, competition students must have an R on the rear of the car):

 

Group 1 - Closed Wheel B (Number and Class designation – AI, AIX, CMC,VVC1, VVC2, VVC3, SUO, SUU, FFR, PC, PS0, PS1, PS2, PS3, HC, SR, SUU, GTI, PR, TP)

Group 2 - Closed Wheel A – SRX7, BG, Legends (Number and Class designation – SRX7, BG, LS, LM, LP, TP)

Group 3 - Intro DE (number only) – Se7ens will be here and group 4

Group 4 - Advanced DE (Number only) Se7ens will be here and group 3, Race Craft (Number only) and Competition Licensing (Number and Class designation with a Red R)

Group 5 Spec Miata’s (Number and Class designation – SM)

Group 6 Open Wheel (Number and Class designation – MP, FM, FA, FC, FR16, FR2, FTP)

 

SCHEDULE at Motorsport Ranch for June 4-6, 2004

 

The times given are only guidelines. This schedule does not include classroom sessions, but these will be a part of the NASA Texas events. Many factors contribute to an event being behind or ahead of the scheduled time. It is vital that participants manage their own time by being aware of the groups that are running and listening to announcements and grid calls.

 

FRIDAY, March 5, 2004

5:00 PM - Note: MSR gates are closed to participants until 5PM

5:00 – 9:30 - Registration/Check-in: Upstairs of Club House for participants, crew, officials and guests.

5:30 – 11:00 - Participants may Set-up in Paddock Spaces according to the directions given by NASA Texas Officials.

12:00 - Gates locked (NASA Texas has arranged for someone to be onsite in case someone must leave for an emergency. We can arrange for those arriving later.)

 

SATURDAY, June 5, 2004

Note for classroom sessions: Any time that Group 3&4 are not scheduled for a track session, they might be scheduled for a classroom session, a break, observation time (on a corner), touring the facility and the behind the scene functions of putting on a race or meeting with their mentor.

 

6:30 AM - Gates Open

6:30 - Registration in Upstairs area of Club House

7:00–7:45 - Van/Truck Drive thru on track, Mentor Introductions to Students, Meet at grid: - For Intro DE, Advanced DE, Race Craft & Comp. School Students Also, for racers that have never driven the track.

7:30 - Officials Meeting at Grid, Radio Hand-out, Gear Handout, Manning Stations, etc

7:30 - Drivers Meeting at Club house

8:00-8:15 - Group 1 Closed Wheel B Practice – no timed results

8:20-8:35 - Group 2 Closed Wheel A Warm-up/Practice – no timed results

8:42-9:22 - Group 3 & 4 Intro DE, Advanced DE, Race Craft and Competition Licensing

9:29-9:44 - Group 5 Spec Miata’s - Warm-up/Practice – no timed results

9:51-10:06 - Group 6 Open Wheel Warm-up/Practice – no timed results

10:13-10:33 - Group 1 Closed Wheel B Qualification

10:40-11:00 - Group 2 Closed Wheel A - Qualification

11:05-11:45 - Group 3 & 4 Intro DE, Advanced DE, Race Craft and Competition Licensing

11:50-12:10PM - Group 5 Spec Miata’s Qualification

12:18-12:38 - Group 6 Open Wheel Qualification

12:38 – 1:38 LUNCH / On-track – Family & Friends: Lead & Follows (10 minutes)/Drift Exhibition (20-30 minutes) NOTE: Participants for lunch time track activities must sign-up in advance and be at grid no later than 12:30 PM (there will be a limit to number of participants)

1:38–1:58 - Group 1 Closed Wheel B RACE 1

2:05-2:35 - Group 2 Closed Wheel A RACE 1

2:42-3:12 - Group 6 Open Wheel RACE 1

3:30–4:10 - Group 3 & 4 Intro DE, Advanced DE, Race Craft and Competition Licensing

4:20-4:50 - Group 5 Spec Miata’s RACE 1

4:57-5:17 - Group 1 Closed Wheel B RACE 2 (GRID is inverted from Race 1 finishing order)

6:00 - Upstairs in Club House: FREE FOOD, TEA and BEER SOCIAL for all the entrants and officials. CODE 3 COOKERS IS PREPARING THE FOOD

 

SUNDAY, June 6, 2004

NOTE: Competition School Students may be permitted to enter into one of the race groups provided that the head instructors, mentor and Regional Director/Event Director approve a participant’s advancement to a race group.

 

6:45 AM - Gates Open

7:15 - Registration at Upstairs of Club House

7:00–7:45 - To Be Announced on Saturday if conducting another Van/Truck Drive thru on track: Meet at grid: - For Intro DE, Advanced DE, Race Craft & Comp. School Students. Also, for racers that have never driven the track.

9:40-10:00 - Group 5 Spec Miata’s Qualification

10:07-10:27 - Group 6 Open Wheel Qualification

10:34-10:54 - Group 1 Closed Wheel B RACE 1

11:02-11:32 - Group 2 Closed Wheel A RACE 1 SRX7’s and BG’s, Qualification LEGENDS. GRID and START NOTES: SRX7’s and BG’s will grid according to their qualification times obtained in their first session of the morning. LEGENDS will grid after the SRX7’s and BG’s and they will be separated at the start to ensure that the SRX7’s and BG’s have plenty of distance.

11:37-12:17PM - Group 3 & 4 Intro DE, Advanced DE, Race Craft and Competition Licensing

12:17-1:17 - LUNCH / On-track – Family & Friends: Lead & Follows (10 minutes)/Drift Exhibition (20-30 minutes) NOTE: Participants for lunch time track activities must sign-up in advance and be at grid no later than 12:10 PM (there will be a limit to number of participants)

1:17-1:47 - Group 6 Open Wheel RACE 1

1:54-2:24 - Group 5 Spec Miata’s RACE 1

2:30-2:50 - Group 1 Closed Wheel B RACE 2 (GRID is inverted from Race 1 finishing order)

2:56–3:26 - Group 2 Closed Wheel A RACE 2 SRX7’s and BG’s, RACE 1 LEGENDS. GRID and START NOTES: This will be a split START. SRX7’s and BG’s will grid according to their finishing order from RACE 1. LEGENDS will grid according to their qualification times that were obtained in their second session of the day. LEGENDS will be the lead cars to the start, followed by the SRX7’s and BG’s.

3:30–4:13 - Group 3 & 4 Intro DE, Advanced DE, Race Craft and Competition Licensing

4:20-4:50 - Group 5 Spec Miata’s RACE 2 – FUN RACE
