Do we know if there will be a CB Friday in Septmember? Any idea what the track charges?

Does anyone have a clue what to expect from the weather in September?

Is anyone from So Cal going up on Thursday?

Are we still looking at a big car count?

Yes BIG car count, and some info to follow soon.

Should have 25 CMC cars, maybe more.

Friday practice cost a ton and no one ever seems to do it.

Weather..probably 75-85..not 105 like Willow or Button Willow.

Kevin - I'll probably be going up on Thursday. CBF seems a good thing for me - never been there...

Brad,

Let's get some more info on CBF, of course it may be more expensive than I've got, not like I can afford a new 'vette, just the old tired '86.

It would be cool to caravan up on Thursday, if so.

On an unrelated note, VARA is running at California Speedway this weekend. For $20 they let you take your street car on the course at lunch. Kind of like the deal NASA does, but, when we were there earlier this year, much faster. I had the 86 Corvette indicating 105 through NASCAR 1 and 2. (A couple of years ago, they asked me not to come back when I played with a Porsche in my TR3). Something to do for the SoCal folks needing a go fast fix. That, and there are some pretty cool cars there.

Tony, Thanks for the info on the weather. The crew seems to mind the heat more than the lucky guy in the car.

Any one know how we can get more info on CBF at Sears?

Yeah, that plus extra hotels, and it gets expensive real quick. Heck the weekend race entry is only 299!

Seems like Buttonwillow is a pretty god deal!

Any interest in hooking up and cruising north together the Friday before?

I will be heading up on the Friday, I havent worked out details yet but it's possible I could join up with the Socal CMC road train!

I'm going to run two sessions at Sears Point on Friday afternoon...I suppose I should just jump in the car and smoke Tony with three laps of racing, but with the new turn configuration and loss of reference points in the esses and new surface I figure a few laps will reconnect my mind with my foot (god may be my copilot but the devil has his foot on the gas)...so if there's anyone new to Sears I'll be glad to do a lead and follow for half the session and show off the double secret line that is going to leave Tony in the dust....bottom line about Sears Point...it takes at least two sessions to feel comfortable and another two or three to get up to 99% speed...that other 1% can take several more weekends of intense practice....or in my case since my first race there in 1969...and I'm still only at 95%...on a good day....but even a bad day in a Camaro is enough to beat a Mustang on a good day...see you in a few weeks...rp

Or if you buy me lunch, I will show you the almost perfect line in the practice session on Saturday morning.

This track is really fun,and very technical...just one more reason why Pryor will eat my exhaust fumes the entire time.

Really,I will teach you newbies if you want me too.

I recently practiced there and ran a 152.712,as the track is really fast now..I promise records will fall.

Yeah...well, I just ran a lap on Play Station and did a 1:48.97...and I expect to be even faster for real!...rp

What game are you playing Richard? I just did a 1:15 at Sears Point.

Ok, so it's NASCAR and they don't use the whole course.
