Kevin Hall Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Does anyone have an idea of how long it will take to tow from So Cal to the track tomorrow? One VARA guy told me 14 hours, and the spousal unit is panicking. Quote
Snakin Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Kevin, on this page there's a link to a Mapquest page that will allow you to enter your address and then give you an estimate to get to the track. For me it's about 6:30 hours, so unless your coming from Mexico I cant imagine it being anywhere near 14hours. see ya http://www.infineonraceway.com/maps_directions/directions_to_infineon_raceway/ Quote
bsim Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 ...and the spousal unit is panicking. Well, you could leave her home. Well, nevermind... Quote
Kevin Hall Posted September 9, 2004 Author Posted September 9, 2004 Brad, Don't even suggest staying home, she got way to excited when I read your post out loud. Brett, Mapquest does say it should be about 6-7 hours but the last time I made the run to Pleasant Hill it took about 7 hours, and that wasn't pulling a trailer. We're over an hour from the SF valley, so I'm guessing we'll be about 8 hours since I don't like to tow much more than 65mph. Then there is Friday afternoon traffic. Thanks for the help guys. We'll be at the Inn Marin, Friday night, how about you? Kevin Quote
Tony G Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Kevin, Where the hell are you starting from Mexico?? About 7-8 hrs max. This means you are not in Florida ?? Excellent! Tony Quote
Kevin Hall Posted September 9, 2004 Author Posted September 9, 2004 Not in Florida, it's been touchy, but my boss was able to make do without me. Neither are we starting from Florida, just the I.E. (Or 909 as they call in on the OC). We're looking forward to the weekend. Dave will be driving Sunday, I'll run Saturday's furball 30 car points inverted race. Thomas will be running HPDE4 Sunday, hoping to get his provisional. I'm not sure what we'll do with 3 drivers fighting over the car! C-YA. Quote
Members Al F. Posted September 10, 2004 Members Posted September 10, 2004 Kevin Sears is about 30 minutes past Pleasant Hill. What you need to do is get over this self imposed speed limit of 65. Also, try really really hard to NOT be passing Pleasant Hill between 3 and 7 pm. All of the traffic leaving this area going north has to pass that silly little bridge at Benicia and its backed up for hours. Quote
