Craig
Hey all We have been suffering with some funky brake problems. i used to think I was half decent at brakes but maybe I am wrong. Here is the problem, premature front brake lock up, the rears have never locked on this car, the fronts will lock at the drop of a hat, with very low braking effort, i have had over 15 stangs in the past none of them had such poor braking performance. We have changed calipers, rotors and about to change the master cylinder. Could there be a problem with the factory proportioning valve? We have tried 2 different suppliers of pads and rotors, the results have been the dissapointing same. My last mustang that i raced with stock brakes (not cobra ) would stand the car on it's nose ( well for about 3 laps anyway before the fluid would boil) water injection and ducting would get 10 laps out of them before they went away. These brakes do not go away they are never there.......help!! Thanks Craig
Keith
If you can only lock the fronts, the first thing that I would look at would be the proportioning valve since this is it's job. After that, it's possible that your master cylinder has had an internal seal failure. I am also having brake problems but slightly different that yours. I have decided to replace the master cylinder. I will order one from Advance during my lunch break and will probably have it tomorrow...
Craig
That's eactly what I am intending to do, I have a master to install and a proportioning valve I also hane new braided lines to install, after all that I sure hope it all works ok as I can't think of anything left to change.....again Cheers Craig
