If the moderator could make this sticky, I'd appreciate it.

 

I'm hoping to put together a list of what parts are available/recommended for 4th Fbodies. If any of you knowledgable people could could add specific parts that you use or have heard work well I'll add them to the categories down below and try to come up with a solid list of everything needed to turn a 4th gen Z28 into a CMC car. Maybe I can come up with some prices too, this will help me know what I'm up against in terms $$$ and also might help new drivers to build a CMC car.

 

If I get a good right up, I'll try and post it on some of the GM forums, Ls1.com, camaroz28.com, etc.. to see if we can get some more 4th gen participation.

Wow...this topic is so broad. Everything you're looking for has been discussed a million times in one place or another, and will continue to be discussed. Why? Because for most of those questions there is no right answer! If there was a right answer, we'd have a speck class!

Yeah, that was my reaction - the question is a little too broad for me to address. In addition, I have never turned a lap in CMC trim, so I would have little CMC input, just f-body input...

Tony and I are updating the HOW TO GET STARTED IN CMC RACING booklet I published several years ago. The booklet covers all the basics for beginners including building a car, racecraft and all the little questions newcomers have. It's intended for the novice CMC participant. We'll answer basic build questions on both Mustangs and Camaros and show you how to build a good midpack car. Faster than that, you're on your own.
