Wolf1548534715 Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 Hi All: I just wanted to thank all those that I have met for all the help, support and encouragement that you've given me. And for all that I haven't met yet I just wanted to warn you that I am hoping to be joining you on the track by the first race of next season. Even though I am driving a third gen Camaro (red #57) I wanted the Mustang people to know that the main reason that I went with this car is because I found this donor before I found a Mustang. In fact I have restored over a dozen Boss 302s and 429s and built 5 Cobras. (My attempt to "reach across the aisle") I have been involved with several types of racing but this is my first attempt behind the wheel. So just in case I do something to piss anyone off you have my apology in advance... in writing . I have wanted to do this since I was about 5 years old. I've been around many types of racing but the CMC group is is different. It is more like a bunch of people that just like to race. Whereas with other groups it's all about winning. In these groups there is only one happy person and the rest suck to be around. Everyone in CMC has gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. Since my wife has a say in how much I can spend this is very important. There is a good chance that my sons will be trying their hands at this. Once again, to all, thanks. I also wanted to warn all of you that I have a LOT of questions. For instance: I've built many engines but I've never built a stock 305. Can anyone tell me what an average 305 TPI engine puts out on the chassis dyno? Is it close to the limit? What is allowed in a rebuild to bring it up to the limit? What needs to be done if it goes over? Quote

Members Al F. Posted December 10, 2004 Members Posted December 10, 2004 Welcome to the family Wolf! It was great to see you and your whole family out enjoying a weekend at the races. You've hit on exactly the reason CMC rocks...because everyone is there to have fun and goes out of their way to help out...just like they appreciate people helping them when they need it. Don't worry about having a million questions. Every single one of us has been there! Just ask away. Quote
