tacovini Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 After a busy day at work answering various CMC clarifications for a number of Texas newcomers, I thought I'd log onto the 'ol CMC website and see what's going on with the old gang. Low and behold, more Texas CMC cars coming into the fold for 2005 here too!!! (I think there are now more cars coming than I originally thought!!!) If you're racing or building a car for Texas CMC, post it here. PS- No Tom Foolery Richard Pryor...you'll mess up my car count!!! Quote
Glenn Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 name - Glenn Landrum car - 95 CMC Camaro status - in pieces - hey, i got 57 days! http://www.vilipend.com/~frrax/CMC-Build Quote
Lewis Tanner Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I've got a car. It's being held hostage in Austin at the cage fabricator. At the least, it'll be running shakedown laps with a CMC sticker on it at MSR. Maybe. Quote
Alien Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 I'm in the process of finishing up my cage too. Bought the car with the intentions of running it as an autocross car, then had dreams of building it for ASedan or AI, then I came back to earth and will be starting off in CMC. The car is a looooong way from being trackworthy. I'm hoping to make the 2006 season. Quote
y5e06 Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Morgan Dawdy '95 Formula #95(?) My build has slowed down significantly. I plan on having the car ready for track days within the next 30-40 days. However I wont' be CMC ready until mid to late this year. Engine is done, Koni's are on the way, Coil overs in two weeks, sorting out lots of boring issues (car was a POS when I got it). Lewis, where are you having your cage built? If its still at the shop I'd love to stop in and take a look. I'm still shopping for a builder. camaro, mustang, FIREBIRD challenge... oh yeah, at least I have stickers Quote
Guest Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 I have a beat-up '88 LX and no money. I wont be competitive or anything, but hopefully the car will be ready with all of the safety stuff done, and a few suspension/brake bits in the next few months. I'll try and run the full season next year, and just focus on getting licensed/legal for this year. From everything I'm reading/heard before/etc, it sounds like getting the license is the toughest parts! Oh, and I've been a fan of this series since it was first talked about. I went to the first Texas race at MSR in '03 as well, and talked to Adam Ginsberg and some of the other guys. Having no money sucks. Quote
Guest Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Sorry, meant to post as "MattB". I'm still waiting on my confirmation email, even though I've been a lurker for years... Quote

Members Al F. Posted January 11, 2005 Members Posted January 11, 2005 Younger days eh? Already making excuses for not taking the Tx CMC crown in 05? Quote
Adam Ginsberg Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 He'll be making more excuses when I snatch that crown outta his hands at the end of this season. 1985 Mustang GT, #5. Quote

Richard Pryor1548534703 Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 OK, Todd, put me down for a TeXas CMC race....I promise I'll run as many in 2005 as I ran in 2004....sounds like a great group that is growing fast and furious...but how come they're beating you? Might be time to put a hardtop on for better aero...Richard Quote
tacovini Posted January 15, 2005 Author Posted January 15, 2005 Tell me about it, RP!!! The open car is comfortable in the Texas heat but I'm starting to think the best this roadster will do in runner-up!!! We'd love to see you down here in Texas but as all the West Coasters know, it's difficult enough just to get you out of the Laguna Seca neighborhood!!! Last I heard Sears Point was out of your range and Thunderhill was considered "another region". Hope all is well....I miss the Britney Spears CMC newsletters! (Still got mine in the bottom of my inbox.) Quote
Richard Pryor1548534703 Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Tony and I are working on an update to the HOW TO GET STARTED IN CMC RACING booklet....we expect it to be completed around March and cover such things as preparation, racecraft, build levels, suggestions, driving tips, etc for beginners thinking about the series...I'll include a special foldout in your copy...but Britney is over the hill and Lindsey Lohan will probably take her place....actually this is the year I start running tracks I've never run but always wanted to ...this year it's Portland for the Rose Festival in June and Maybe MidOhio for the National Runoffs...all depends on how our SSB Camaros do in the West Coast Nationals....you Texas CMC guys must REALLY have some great BBQ's...Richard "sure the waiter can marry us for the weekend" Pryor Quote
Adam Ginsberg Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 RP - Hallett has your name written all over it. Come on out, and you can see what are Texas BBQ's are all about. Quote
alexands Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 Just making my plans (and coaxing the wife). I have a 944 Turbo that I built for PCA that I need to sell first. Invested $25K and still am about $5K from and 2 years from actually getting on the track Will probably build a 3rd gen Camaro. Maybe start the process in Q3 this year and make my first HPDE this time next year. I'll be at all of the races, though, as a spectator. Scott Quote
tacovini Posted February 3, 2005 Author Posted February 3, 2005 See you out there, Scott! Make sure to come by the paddock and introduce yourself!!! Quote
alexands Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 You bet, Todd. See you out at MSR next month. Quote
