rzaron53 Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 FYI, This months hot rod has a feature about someone building a CMC mustang. It also shows a 67-68 camaro with NASA and AIX stickers on it. According to the website AI and AIX only allow the same yr/model cars as CMC. Is this not true? Are all the old trans am legal cars also legal for AIX? THat would be cool..... Also, where do you guys get your cars dynoed before the season starts? Is there an approved list somewhere? I looked on the website and couldn't find anything. I'm near palo alto, CA, in case anybody knows a place local to me. Thanks, -Ron Quote
bsim Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 CMC and AI have different model years permitted. For CMC, Camaro's are 82-97. AI allows any American made car from 1960 on up to today (with some other restrictions, of course). But that's why you'll see 1st and 2nd gen Camaros in AI... Quote
Kevin Hall Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Some of those 1st and 2nd gen Camaros are pretty cool, for the brief time I see them before I have to stop and pick up my doors after they go by. That orange Mustang Fastback is about as wicked fast as anything around. The down side is going that fast in a 35+ year old car street car. Still, it really hauls the mail. Quote
Guest Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Wow any 1960 and up american car?! So many possibilities racing though my mind. I think its time to buy that 61Valiant I've had my eye on...... How 'bout the dyno info? Anybody? Quote
Members Al F. Posted January 8, 2005 Members Posted January 8, 2005 I've gone to ATP Mfg. (Advanced Tuning Products) in Fremont the last two years. 510-445-1682. That's not very far from Palo Alto at all. Nice guys, very low key, plus they let you screw around with your car without charging you extra for being a "tuning" session. Quote
cmc38camaro Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 I've used DynoSpot Racing in San Jose the last couple of year and planned to go back again this year. Their phone number is: (408) 271-9800 Mike Quote
