Cal Speedway questions

I was there, driving my street car. I had a blast. It was my first time driving the GRAND-AM config at the track. Unfortunately I left for a bit and missed most of the CMC race but I got to see the last 10mins or so.

I was wondering what speeds you guys were going through the oval turn at? Man, that turn takes some balls!!! I was driving my 02 red SS. Its setup fairly stock with street tires. I think I was pushing low 120's around the oval turn, I know that's laughable. I heard some cars take it flat all the way through (maybe 140-150?), do the CMC cars go flat?

Also I was wondering if you go flat through the left right chicane leading to the tight decreasing radius right hander.

I was very jealous to see you guys battling out there... As soon as I can get together enough money, I'm going to have to build up a fourth gen...

Glad you had a good time!

Not all all laughable, quite respectable with a stocker street car!

Yes we do! One year someone came out with a radar gun and clocked the top CMC cars at 150mph! The first time I went through there flat out was a genuine thrill!

Yes!
