Paul Bloomberg Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 Does anyone have single-bodied shock recommendations for a ITR? The car has race springs, camber links, bars, ect.... Please rate the shocks on performance and price? thanks, Paul Quote
FasTom Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 After trying many different type. I highly recommend the H&R race setup Shocks are by Bilstrin and are GREAT. springs are 815 and 940 pounds. These are excellant rates for the track. Too harsh for the street. Total set-up about 2100.00 installed at my shop. Includes shocks - main springs - helper springs, no rattles - installation - alignment - corner weighting. Quote
kingrat Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 Hi Paul, I suffered the same quandry when I dropped my Motons in favor of a single body setup so I could be in a lower class. After much research I had Morris dampers make me a custom set using a bilstein component. They dyno'd my Motons and revalved the shocks as close as they dared. I cant say they are as good as a Moton, but I got a H3 championship out of them, and I think my edge was handling. cost was around $2300. I have also heard good things about the Koni (2511??) setup as well and I believe its a similar price. Alex. Alex. Quote

Paul Bloomberg Posted December 14, 2003 Author Posted December 14, 2003 (edited) Danny, I wieghed my H1 ITR today it weighs 2420 so with my fat butt in the car... that makes the total weight about 2610lbs with gear/fuel. Per Ryan I need to run my H2 weight which is 2575lbs. My concern was that the car was going to be very light then I would have to add a 300lbs or so to make weight so my thought was I'd rather lose the shocks stay in H1 w/o the min. weight and mod the motor/brakes or just make the car H2. Since last weekend with NASA at AMP was my first real driving experience in FWD comparing my lap times to the spec car drivers that I used to run similar times with and comparing differences in classes from other regions. I think I'll be ok... once I get more familiar with the FWD car. I can always add power but what is the point of that if I'm not using what I have to the full extent. So I'll just drive the car in H1 as is for a while : ) Paul Bloomberg #51 2003 Az Championship 944-Spec FS (See ad under race cars FS) #186 98 ITR H1 Edited December 14, 2003 by Guest Quote

kingrat Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Dont know whats happening there. Its been over a year since I dealt with them so maybe they have gone under. Another good shock package is LEDA. I have been very impressed with their products on the 944s and they are now doing HONDA shocks for around $400 a corner. Alex. Quote

I have heard great praise from LEDA in other markets (such as the German market). Does anyone have any comments on Advanced Design offered through GC? Looking at running GC ERS's at around the 600/900 ballpark and wandering if anyone had expierience with the AD's? Sorry for the hijack, however it might be a viable alternative. Quote
