INEX road racing points system

Recommended Posts

Can someone please explain or let me know if I am correct in thinking about the INEX road racing points system? I understand that INEX has 3 different points Champoins titles that we compete for in our respective class(Pro, Semi Pro or Masters): State road race champion, National road race champion and World road race champion. This would then mean that there would be 3 National, 3 World and also 3 division specific champions from each state.

Now, I am trying to understand this "ghost" car field filler deal that INEX uses. I have spoken to a few different people but have not got a clear understanding of how it works still. It states in the rulebook that the "ghost" cars will fill the field to 3 cars in road racing. This where I am lost. Does this mean that if I were to show up and there be 3 Legends at a NASA event and one was a Pro, one was a Master and one was a Semi Pro, are there any point awarded and if so, How? This is confusing. Please help me to understand. I am going to attempt to try to run for some kind of points next year if I can figure it all out. LOL! Thanks,LB

If you are the only Legends Car in your class, you will get 3rd place points.

If there were two cars in your class and you took 1st in your class, you would get 2nd place points.

If there were three cars in your class, and you won your class, you would be awarded the full 1st place points.

Thanks Dale! BTW, I think your car is very nice looking after seeing the pics from the NASA SE site. Let me know when the Lowe's Winter Heat will be held. I am interested in trying to run an event or two on the road course for 2006 points. Thanks,LB
