bsim Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Lots of banging, but nothing serious. I started last, and ended up 14th. I also got a podium in PTC! Quote

cmc38camaro Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Hey all, I beat Scotts prediction and I'm home on Sunday with 3 minutes to spare. What can I say.... Great racing and great people. It was a true pleasure meeting our fellow CMC competitors from around the country. Here's the top 10 from memory so don't shoot me if I make a mistake, if I do it's going to be on 6,7 & 8. 1. James: a great come back, 2 dnfs in the qualifying races 2. Glen: the guy who ran Saturday's race with no power steering 3. Jeff: Shaved his head for the finals and it may have helped 4. Brady: why did it have to be a 40 minute race? 5. Nick: solid and consistant, grounds are necessary on computer cars 6. Adam: another great run through the field for a top position 7. Ben: cmc racer or drifter.... you decide 8. Todd: Mister I can pass three cars in one corner 9. Aaron: thanks for showing the group the fast way around the track 10. Kevin: a great result for the mod motor crowd more to come. Mike Quote
Glenn Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 swap #'s 2 & 3. Jeff was second. 4th gens suck w/ no power stearing. and the only thing worst than that is finding out @ 130mph going into turn 7 @ Mid Ohio. had it not been for that, i would have started on the front row Sunday. it was a real treat to meet eveyone. i was hoping for a top 10. a top 5 would have been beyond my wildest dreams. 3rd is as good as first for me........ this year! fireball25f500 Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Sounds like a great race! One question, was the start as wild and crazy as the announcers made it out to be? Quote
Keith Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Thanks to all the drivers that I met on and off the track. This was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I have nothing more to say... Just too much. Quote
Renntag1548534718 Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 The start was just as wild as they made it out to be. What an awesome event, and a great race ! It was great to meet fellow CMCers from across the country. Thanks also to those that offered advice on the line. Arriving late on friday didnt afford me needed time to learn a new track and a new car. We have some amazing driving talent in this series ! Congrats to everyone involved! Quote
Guest Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Yes the start was nuts! alot of people on the hill overlooking the keyhole were holding there breath on that one, glad everyone made it through safely, suprising not to see a restart with all the passing under yellow leading up to the key hole and close proximity of CMC,AI cars before the green. Jeff Quote
RobbBrent Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 here is the deal the start was BS with the front rows of the cmc class stopping as the back rows passed under yellow while running up on the ai cars before their green. It ruined the whole weekend for people that deserved to run up front such as the pole sitter aaron who was back to about 20th before the race even should have started. Quote
Tony G Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Ok here we go: First and most important ..congratulations to JAMES GRIFFITH !!!!!!!!!! If you didn't know, James was snake bitten the entire week and with DNF's in both qual sessions this put him to the back of the Champ Race grid. When the race started he was pinched into the wall and was near dead last into the first corner. His incredible driving talent and determination enabled him to go through the entire field to take the Championship race with 2nd- 5th close behind. I have to say its the most incredible come back I have ever seen. Brady Flaherty lead the race for at least the first 15 minutes but Jeff Birch and Glenn Landrum were in close hot pursuit the entire time and really put on a show as the announcer was talking about you guys non stop. Here is the official top 10 1)James Griffith..Mustang 2)Jeff Burch..Camaro 3)Glenn Landrum..Camaro 4)Brady Flaherty..Camaro 5)Nick Steel..Camaro 6)Adam Ginsberg..Mustang 7)Ben Pfaff..Camaro Todd Covini..Mustang 9)Aaron Bambach..Mustang 10)Kevin Margetta..Mustang Let me also personally say it was a pleasure meeting all of you guys who I only knew by emails or phone calls, and I think we all had a great time finally putting faces on names. What a great group of people we have and I hope to see you all soon again. Also lets thank Mike Plum and Sam Stowell who came out with me and put in a great amount of time trying to make this weekend run as smooth as possible for you to enjoy. Also we announced the SUPER CMC class which will begin this upcoming 2007 Season. More to come on everything, Thanks everyone, Tony Guaglione CMC National Director Quote
rocketman Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Congrats to all the National CMC racers! Well done. Tony, not to mess up this thread but you got any info on this new Super CMC class you can share online?? TIA. Quote
