Tony G
OK, so I finally met up with Robert with these radios in hand and he is willing to make us a damn good deal here. I want to start with at least 10 listen only radios ( I will buy the other radio with headset for our broadcaster) and you done, you then can at anytime add another radio to talk to your crew. So what I need now is to see how many West Coast guys are in with me on this for the pricing. I would think that 20 radios would go fast, but I need 10 of you to commit. I promised not to post the price since its a pkg deal (and cheap..under $150),so at this point just let me know. Ok so who is in..or better yet who wouldnt be? Members Al F.
I'm in. hmmm...if everyone in Ca is in "listen only" mode, I might opt for talk capabilities. Just think of all the cool things I could say to the other drivers in the middle of a race... "MOVE OVER!" "GET THAT MUSTURD OUTTA MY WAY" and most often... "HEY I'M SPINNING HERE, WATCH OUT"
Glenn
i got a chance to use these for my first time @ Mid Ohio. before this past weekend i didnt see the "need" for this for myself even though i thought it was a good thing for safety. after just 1 session out w/ them, i have seen the light. @ the cost Argent Lab is making this available, there is NO reason every car shouldnt have them. they will be part of my "tools list" for every event from now on. Adam Ginsberg
Glenn is spot on regarding the Argent Lab setup. Just having the listen-only ability is huge in knowning what's going on during a race. We had great spotters at Mid-O, and it made a world of difference. Folks - don't miss the opportunity. Renntag1548534718
I was very interested in checking this radio system out and now that I have used it at Mid-Ohio, I can honestly say that we all need to employ this equipment. In my region I think the greatest challenge will be getting everyone else onboard and then getting good spotters. The benefit is worth the challenge. Thanks Boudy. NickS
Tony - can you send me details on the the radio? I'd like to see what it will take to connect one of those receivers to the existing radio system's harness I have (both in the car and onto my crew's headset.. - Nick

Tony G
These are from www.Argentlab.com ,as Robert owns this company and races in the Texas region and has the best support system I have ever seen. We are working on the radios right now to program them to scan correctly. For listen only we will be using the AL-300R The Dual setup for listening to the CMC broadcast, and to be able to talk to a crew member separately is the AL-300D. Check out his website. I have 10 on order and also the main setup to broadcast to you all. You can reach Robert at 817-703-1475 for specific details, but I'll have an update on these in a day or so. donlee
Tony, I'm in for two radios. Next time I'd like to hear from Addison that he is OK and only the quarter panels, doors and tires are whacked. See you at Sears Point. NickS
Ok, can you guys let me know what frequency you are going to be using? I'll reprogram my existing radios to scan on that frequency so both my crew (wife!) and I can hear.. - Nick
Tony G
Nick, I'll have the info later today and will let you know. Here is the update: Robert got 50 of the new radios and they DONT scan and he is ordering more that will scan. These however are perfect for those of you that want to listen only, and if you want them now and then decide to go to the scanning radio and purchase another scanning radio( to be able to talk with your crew), he will give you 100% credit to upgade to the scanner type radio. I will have him send 15 radios with ear pieces,a master scanning 5 watt radio with headphones to broadcast CMC only this next weekend. If your going for a listen only then your set, otherwise you just use these until the scanning ones come in and then you can buy another radio to talk to your pit crew. Remember there will only be one freq for the CMC broadcast, and no one will be able to talk on it ( except for the broadcaster)as its the broadcasters job to fill us all in. If you go with 2 radios you will hear the CMC broadcast and be able to talk to your pit crew only but no one else will hear you as you will be on a separate scanning channel. Sound like fun or what. Come up to me Saturday morning to get hooked up with these. Tony Guaglione
Boudy1548534717
Hello fellow CMC'ers. Hope you are all recovered for the Nats. It was a long and grueling week...I can't wait 'till next year. For those who have radios and scanners already, the channels to be used for Safety Broadcasts with be as follows. 1 is the primary and 2 is the backup if we encounter interference. 1 464.5625 2 469.5625 I will use these channels consistantly across all regions that we perform a Safety Broadcast. Hopefully, by mid season next year, it will be all regions. What Tony is saying is that my new 2.5 watt model radio has a software code problem and doesn't scan. The 4 watt model works fine as designed. Scan is only required to listen to the SB channel while talking to your crew on another channel. Otherwise, to only listen the the SB, this radio is fine. Also, to communicate to your crew, this radio is fine. Just not both on the same radio at the same time. (Hope that helps) Yeah, I've cut the check to engineering to fix it and new 2.5 watt radios should be here in 4 to 6 weeks. Meanwhile, I'll drop these units for $120 each and give 100% credit to anyone who wants to upgrade to a scan model. Buy 1 w/earpiece to listen to the SB or buy 2 w/car kit to talk with your crew. Either way, you won't get stuck, I'll take care of you for upgrades. Now, the 4 watt units are ready for war. We used 2.5 watts with no problems at Mid-Ohio but I'm not sure if you guys may or may not have a track in Cali that requires the higher power units. If you have any questions, please contact Tony or myself. I am twisting my schedule to allow me to fly in and help get your first SB kicked off. Boudy1548534717
Sorry, it just wasn't in the cards this weekend. Unless, I want to get back to DFW at 5:30 am on Monday... Tony will however have a big ol' box of radio equipment. Be safe, have fun. Boudy
