Guest Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 No scales near me. What typically will a 3rd gen camaro weight after removal of the interior and the smog equipment? kyle Quote
GT4Point6 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I know that Roger and John's 3rd gen is right at minimum weight and I've heard a few 4th gen drivers mention how hard it is to get a 4th gen down to weight and it's much easier to do on a 3rd gen. That doesn't really answer your Q but if it's gutted, your in the ball park and if anything, probably a bit over. Quote
Guest Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I didnt want to start cutting anything if I dont need to. I just got the interior out of the car and starting on the emissions crap next. kyle Quote
fastjohn Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Our third gen, which is an 1987, with a 150 lb driver and 1/2 tank of fuel is right on the weight minimum. With me in the car let's say I don't need any extra ballast ! If you remove all the excess brackets and parts that are not needed you will be close to the right weight . Our car has sub frame connectors and an exhaust all the way out the back. The lighter you are the better, especially if you remove the weight from the front of the car, but only remove what the rules allow! Hope this helps. Quote
