GT4Point6 Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Had my clutch go out at Infineon on the last race on Sunday during our last race weekend. Flywheel side of the clutch stayed together, on the pressure plate side, 100% of the friction material came off the clutch and about 80% of is still stuck to the pressure plate. It's not welded to the plate or anything, just came apart and wedged into the outer parts of the pp. Managed to finish the race but then I barely got it in the trailer and I was not able to get it into any gear this weekend so it had to be pushed out of the trailer and into the garage. Awaiting new throwout bearing on Monday and then she will go back together. Replaced the pilot bearing while I had it apart and put in a FMS King Cobra (KC) clutch to replace the stock clutch that had 60k street miles and almost two years racing on it. Had the KC clutch in the garage so that is what I used. Stock unit seemed to work fine and a new KC clutch is only about $175 and is more than enough for our power levels. http://margetta-racing.com/pics/clutch1.jpg Quote
