Guest
(1) When removing the A/C system from 1994 Mustang 5.0, do you have to buy a A/C delete pulley or change the belt to a different belt? (2) Wheel Spacers (rear): With the wide hips of the rear body & 16x7.5 wheels, the rear has plenty of extra space for a wider track; are folks using rear wheel spacers & if so, what sizes are they using? Renntag1548534718
Well good morning new poster with out a name ! I am not far from you in Northern Virginia and perhaps we'll see you at summit point soon. To answer your questions: 1. To delete the A/C compressor itself by removing from the engine bay and not just bypassing it with a belt, purchase the a/c delete kit available from our local Ford Motorsport dealer 703-430-3673. Install is simple. The power steering pump gets moved upward. You will need a shorter belt. I believe the non-a/c belt is the one you need. NOTE: You can also remove the air-pump assembly completely and will have to use an even shorter belt and re-route the belt different from stock. Be sure to retain the reverse rotation of the water pump. Note 2: There are several under drive pulley kits available. If you dont ever idle the car extensively, there is an underdrive pulley that is smaller than the bolt circle that retains it, thus the bolts would be outside the pulley. This pulley reduces cavitation problems at sustained high RPM at the cost of low rpm performance. 2. Not many racers will reccomend wheel spacers. If you are running drum brakes with the stock pony wheels then yes, your wheels will seem to be tucked inward. A disc brake upgrade and axle swap using junk yard parts will widen the rear track by 1 1/2". At this point you will start to have clearance issues and thus need to roll the inner lip upward. The next option is another set of wheels with a different offset. Getting a new car onto the track, this isnt necessary. You can upgrade wheels later. I hope this helps.
