Recommended Posts

Yes its the last one this year at Buttonwillow Race park on Nov 11/12th.

We will have a huge end of year gathering with all you folks at the WILLOW ranch BBQ.

Will have the 2007 rules, the CMC2 rules,Trophies,notables,beer/wine and food...and yes you have to listen to me preach about the entire last year, but it will all be good stuff.

Come out even if your not racing, and lets make this a good one to remember.

Bring your new radios as we will once again be setting the standard with a radio safety broadcast.

Bring your hans device too...your not racing without one are you?

Sign up NOW!

See you there.

i would like to see a copy of those rules in my inbox that same day. no reason to give you west coaster an advantage by seeing them earlier than the rest of us, right?

your guys did take the National Championship home.

No way man, that would give you an advantage. You could be working on your car that day while we're only racing that weekend.

Since Texas is always 2 hours later than us,the rules will be in Texas 2 hours after we get them over here...always remember "The West is best, East is least" and well..the middle is just ..well..who the hell knows..

The last race is always a good one, seriously. Can't wait!

On the lighter side.............

Rules will as always, be biased to the left coasters so we have all the advantages, for example:

"All regions that start with a C and end with an A, are automatically allowed to do any and all mods desired regardless of other rules including 24" BLING BLING rims and cross drilled, slotted gold plated rotors and carbon fiber windshields. Boom boxes and airconditioning are optional but highly recommended for the bonus BLING points.

Regions that start with a T and end with an S have to drive a Ford Pinto or a Chevy Vega in the Nationals. No exceptions."

"Any and all rule complaints must be filed in a timely manner to [email protected]"

Had a blast this year, already looking forward to 07!!!

not sure about in Kaliphornia but in Texas it ends w/ an S not an X.

drive a pinto? you really want to be beat and humiliated?

just send the rules when your done figuring out who in your state is the fastest fruit or nut.

If anyone has a set of toyos with enough tread left for the Buttonwillow weekend I'll bring down our new 1992 CMC Camaro...make me a good deal on a set of tires and watch this car set a new lap record...RP

Maybe if my hair grew about a foot in length in a day or 2

I would probably run out of hair dye

Well Kyle didn't grow his hair two feet, but there was definitely some hair standing on end!

Overall a great weekend for me, but there was some banging.

Kirk and Kevin got the worst of the deal in a head to head confrontation in the esses:

I feel your pain Kevin and Kirk! Sorry to see that... shoot, even Stahlman and Lundergard have a big donut on their left rear quarter in one of those shots!

Kirk has the most damage probably due to the angle of impact. Not sure, but mine isn't really that bad. A little frame work, quarter panel, hood, bumper, underlying (is that a word?) hardware, a new rim and two new tires and she will be ready to run. Our rear quaters contacted after the fronts due to the angle so it was like a double tap with the first being the hardest. That cut my rear tire and dented the quarter but it should be an easy fix to the quarter with some "Carson" engineering (read: Hammer and 2x4)

We battled for most of the race for 1st and 2nd and this put us both out. Good race though up to that with Nick and Brett mixed in with us for the top four for most of the race. All four of us had the lead at some time during the race.

I had the Simpson D-Cell prior to this weekend and ran with the Hans this weekend. I'm sure both would have performed well in that impact.

On that note, the Hans does allow more movement while driving. In that is says you should be able to look 45 deg each way and touch your helmet to your chest when strapped in. That in itself is a dramatic improvement over the D-Cell which I can now say is confining compared to the Hans while driving.

Roger got more than one donut stamped onto the #44 this weekend. (Not from me!)

Hard weekend on brakes as Mike and myself both tried to force aluminum brake pistons into the steel backing recesses on the pads and we both suceeded, which deformed the pistons to say the least. This of course destroyed our brakes and made for some rapid, frantic repairs Sat night and Sunday morning. Big thanks to Don for the pistons and John for the help in getting mine done Sat before dinner.

Time for some Tequila and a nice long winter nap, errr ok how about some long winter repairs.

Sorry to see those pictures. That's never what you want to see, especially to a couple of guys like you!!! Best of luck on winter rebuilds.
