thoughts on keeping/tracking stats other than lap records??

i know we track things like track lap records for each class.

we also track manufactures points. but as long as CMC has been around now and @ the rate its growing, how about we start keeping stats?

NASCAR keeps stats on every imaginable thing. sometimes taking it too far. i think it would be fun to track some things and allow some bragging rights on top of Championships and such.

if you guys think it stupid, I'll drop it and move on, if you guys think its a cool idea, well, toss out some thoughts and ideas on things you think it would be cool to track.

some of my ideas:

most wins in a single weekend

most wins in a season

most poles in a season

most wins to date

most consecutive wins

most consecutive races w/out missing a race

we could do this by region, but i would like to see this kept to an overall type thing.

flame suit on.

I'm sure you would, considering Texas is the only region that holds four races per weekend. Talk about padding your stats.

well Mr Forever the Pessimist, we could devide it up into region.

no reason to accuse me of having an agenda, you could have just stated how it would have not been fair and why.

constructive input is welcome.

Geez Glenn, don't get your manties in a bunch. I was just poking fun at your obvious "agenda."

i had no idea we were the only one who ran 4 races per weekend.

there is no agenda. i was looking over #'s in our region over the last 3 years and i accually got a kick out of it. i thought some would to.

Glenn, I think that is a great idea! I'm a complete nerd though, so I might not be in the majority around here...I love lots of numbers. We could easily weight the results so that participating in more races wouldnt result in having better stats; instead of most wins ever, look at most wins per race started for example.

What we need is someone with database and html expertise and free time...

for the National Stats, we could use %'s to even things out.

i think total #'s should be used when all possible.

like my favorite stat on (who else) me! counting Nationals, my car has started and finished every race (ran every single lap) from March 2005 till Oct 2006. thats a total of 53 races. that does not include qual each day or practice sat morning. basically in region, i have started/completed 50 of 50 races (24 in 2005, 26 in 2006). but hey, its just a number.

dont hate me cause i'm beautiful.

if you dont know how well your performing, how are you gonna inform your sponsors.

oh, and i've never been lapped in a race.

oh, and i've never been lapped in a race.

Considering most of your races are 15 minutes long, I'd sure hope not.

it didnt happen in the long races either, including Nationals. and yourself?

Don't worry Glenn. Someday you'll get some fast AI cars down there and you'll learn all about it, provided you guys keep running some real race distances. It's just a numbers a game of lap times and number of laps. If the start hadn't been botched at the Nationals, the AI leaders would have been breathing down your neck at the end too. But if your question is whether I've ever been lapped by another CMC car in a race, then the answer is no.

my bad, that was #12 not #3. cars look alot alike.

well i've been lapped by AI cars. thats a given. any car that runs 5-10 seconds a lap faster and also gets a 5-10 second head start due to grid order should lap a CMC car. i got passed by a few AIX and AI cars @ Nationals. its a non-issue as far as i'm concerened. we also run w/ the GPC guys along w/ ASC cars here in TX. so getting passed by out of class cars is not a problem.

but back to your comment of the number of races we run. realize half of our races are inverted starts and i know you guys dont do those. for those that dont know, that means if you win the first race each day, you start dead nuts last the next. just another stat, i've finished in the top 5 20 of the 26 races. top 3 13 times. that means 12 of them were from the opposite of where i finished the race prior. thats w/ 23 points collecting CMC cars in TX.

w/out inverts, the numbers would look alot better.

take the number for what they are. numbers.

Glenn that is truly impressive and inspiring. Jack Roush said to expect a call from him next week. That is if you'll consider running Fords.

Take that! Oh, and I don't get lapped by AI cars here.

Should have seen GL's face when he had a 1/2 mile lead and CMC#17 caught up to him. I could tell he was pushing that Camaro beyond safe parameters. lol Too bad there wasn't one more lap. Lots of fun chasing people down.
