Dflaherty
A Merc Capri has been delivered to Corona High School in Corona CA to begin the process of becoming a CMC participant . If anybody has any parts they want to donate please let me know. It's a 5 speed 302. Chaffey College is doing the engine and the 5 speed is going to be done by a local transbuilder. It still has the 4 bolt wheels and it will take some time to get it going. This car is a work in progress and such things as old toyos tires that hold air would be appreciated. Just rolling it around the shop is a problem at this time. This car is intended to be used as a demonstration car for the media and for community outreach events. I see it being used in HPDE - transitioning into CMC. It comes from Rob Kinnan at Hot Rod Magazine. The car's home will be at the school. It might eventually have to turn into a mustang but I am intending to paint it in the Panammerica 54 Lincoln Style for flavor. A HOT ROD Merc would add some more personality to the series. As for parts we need - Everything. Examples Some of the body cladding that you normally get rid of might be used to make it pretty. The rear Capri bubble window is a question. Old springs/ shocks which wern't perfect but are ok as an example. This car is supposed to represent CMC so any ideas are welcome.
