gold chains and oakleys
All: Every leader has to be a little nutty, so when Kieth decided to campaign the #48, I do not think he knew that it was the ONLY American car entered in the 25 hour..(Yeah, there was a stock car, and a Focus, but they did not qualify). So out of 60+ Cars, it was a Mustang vs. Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Acura, Suzuki, Subaru, and BMW... But Kieth said from day 1 (which was literally 2 weeks before the race) We "were in it to win it". Let me tell you, without the two catastophic mechanicals that put us back over 150 laps, we could have won E1. A few drivers Sunday morning in the same class even came up to me and said "Did you guys break yet?" and I said yes, they then said "Thank God", and then I was like why? They said they were getting lapped by us every 15 laps. From 9pm to 4am, #48 was consistently faster than the next E1 guy by 7 seconds...in the dark. Huge thanks go out to the entire team. Don and Rich, the Lawson and and FFR team. The effort was simply amazing. The CMC clan once again defined what the word Stud is. When you look in the dictionary for that word, you see pictures of Scott, John, Gary, and good old Dad (Dennis). These guys absolutey kept the car on the track. And there is a HUGE silver lining here...Because of the determination of the team, we raised more than $7K for cause. This is a true story, and it may make your hair raise on your neck: When the car broke at about midnight, we had lost 3rd gear, and everyone was obviously tired, and freezing, I said, "guys lets call it, we do not have another tranny" Don said to me: "you put this sticker on the car right?" I said "Uh, yeah" (the sticker read "Racing for a Reason" which was the charity campaign. He said with all the conviction in the world, "you go get some rest, the car will be back". As I was walking back to the RV to rest, I heard Rich say "we have a tranny" the Factory Five car had a spare... 45 Minutes later, as Don was strapping me in the car, he said "I told you"..the Car ran the rest of the race.. With the cooperatioin and goodness from the charity sponsors, and again the team not allowing the car to stay in the pits, a significant amount of good is being done. I can guarantee no other team can post that win. So last (and most important) thanks go out to Keith. We could have had the best crew in the world, and the most determined drivers..But without our leader (and we can call him a little nutty) this would just be a story. He made it a reality. Without his determination and the #48 none of this would have happend. Brady [/b]

tacovini
Congrats, Brady to you and your team! Those events are so memorable on so many levels! There's already some talk about a Texas CMC effort for the 2007 25 hours of Thunderhill...so you boys better relax for a week or so and put your game face back on because we're puttin' a Texas team together to show y'all a thing or two in your own backyard!!! WooHoo! Edited December 8, 2006 by Guest
