mcmmotorsports1548534724
How many of you guys are running the Canton Oil Pan?
jeffburch
I'll go out on a limb to say that more do than don't. jb
Tony G
On the West Coast I would say maybe 3-4 have one out of 35 of us. I personally do not have one and never have needed one, but that is just me. I use an accusump set up. Tony Guaglione
Lady in Nomex
Canton Accusumps are popular as an alternative to their pan. The Canton Accusump is superior to the Moroso product BTW - I have had both.

Glenn
so do you guys need the accusump cause you dont have the pan - possibly? i like having the pan cause it helps in keeping the pick-up covered. instead of having the uncovered pick-up helped out by a pressurized tank full of oil. its also lighter than an accusump. you dont have to find a place to mount a pan, it kinda only goes in one place. i wont have a line fail w/ a pan. and now the rules have changed to allow both, but i dont think i'll add the accusump. just my .02. GT4Point6
I run an accusump, modular 4.6. Didn't do the oil pan since the past rules only allowed one or the other. Mod motor has to be removed (or k-member dropped) to install a Canton so I went the easy route. I have a low oil pressure light set to 30 psi (modulars like pressure) and it's only flickered a couple of times before the accusump at the entrance to turn 4 at Infineon (downhill braking, right turn). Haven't seen it after the accusump install. If I ever pull the motor, I think it's worth the extra capacity if nothing else as I'd like to think they work as designed. Members Al F.
I'd think the easy of install probably affects a lot of people's decision as to one or another. I put a Canton in my LT1 because the motor was out anyway. There is one place in all of the Ca tracks where my 18psi oil pressure warning light turns on for about half a second so I'm pretty happy with it. Keith
I'd think the easy of install probably affects a lot of people's decision as to one or another. I put a Canton in my LT1 because the motor was out anyway. That is where I am right now. I managed to get a Canton Pan with a car I recently bought and I will install it on the CMC car someday when the engine is out. I wouldn't take that on a project on it's own because it would be too much of a time committment....
