Dave Whitelaw Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 What is the point of not being able to update and backdate bodywork for the mustangs between 94-04?? They are the exact same chassis. Why just 94-98 and 99-04? Thanks Dave Quote
Tony G Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Different body style..,fenders,hood,bumpers,grill,quarter panels,doors,lights etc,etc. Tony Guaglione Quote
Dave Whitelaw Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 What would the performance advantage be of taking 99+ bodywork and putting it on a 94 mustang? Just tring to figure out the thinking behind this rule?? Thanks Dave Whitelaw Quote
MHISSTC Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Different body style..,fenders,hood,bumpers,grill,quarter panels, doors, lights etc, etc. That's the same reason we can't update/backdate across the '86/'87 4-eyed/aero bodystyle line. They have differnt hoods, grill, front and rear bumpers, side windows, bodyside moldings, headlights and headlight header panel, etc., etc... ...oh wait, we can cross the '86/'87 line...maybe it's more of a crimped in sheet metal kind of thing... ...oh wait, the two different hoods are made of metal... ...hmmm, maybe it's just that crossing the 4-eyed/aero line is bad Karma!?!? tongue firmly planted in cheek Quote
Dave Whitelaw Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 Hoods fit perfect from a 04 to 94 mustang and also wings ect... Im not saying im going to break out the welder but some things would be easy and look better. Quote
Members Al F. Posted February 26, 2007 Members Posted February 26, 2007 Its not a performance issue, not every rule adresses performance. Its a look issue. CMC tries to maintain reasonably close to OEM look by limiting things like keeping dashboards etc. '96 fenders dont match '01 quarters, etc. Quote
Dave Whitelaw Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 Got it ! That was the answer I was looking for. Thanks Al Quote
Richard Pryor1548534703 Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Wait...I've just spent all winter putting 2002 Camaro body work on a 1969 Boss 302...you mean I can't run it in CMC?...I assume chrome lug nuts are still acceptable...rp Quote
Dave Whitelaw Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 Well as long as it looks like a mustang im sure your good!! Quote
