TPetrosky Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I need a new car number this year. Any suggestions for choosing a new CMC car number that isn't already used within the NASA regions? Three years ago, I went through a process of looking at all the different regional sites and after buying/applying a number that I thought was unique to the series, discovered there was already a CMC racer using the same number. I'd like to avoid the potential of seeing the same car number as mine at the Nationals. Quote
Glenn Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 w/ at least 100 racers in CMC across the country, thats going to be hard w/ a 2 digit number. plan on using a 2 digit number locally and then add a 3rd digit for Nationals. be prepaired to do it. my number is 70 in TX. @ Nationals i ran 770 and was was prepaired to make 70 into a 770, 707, or 700. leave yourself room in front and rear of your regional number to allow you to do this. also try and use numbers that are already on the car. in my case, i hace a 2nd set of 70's made up so i could add a 7 to each side or a 0 to each side and those options were available to me either to the left or right of 70. there was 20+ racers in CMC @ Nationals '06. i see that number going 40+ this year. PS - i signed up yesterday, and #70 is already taken. Quote
jeffburch Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) What? Where is the entrants list? In the SE Region you reserve your number annually with a nominal fee. Maybe we could do that on a national level with the proceeds going to a big CMC Fiesta at the National Championships. Or a big appreciation gift for our "Tony (Dahli) Lama" and our director staff. jb Edited May 4, 2007 by Guest Quote
King Matt1548534716 Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Tom, There is a permanent number list posted on the Ohio-Indiana website for the Midwest and OH-IN regions, and you are registered on it for #71. As for the Nationals, it's first-come, first served when you register. Quote
Glenn Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Jeff, by taken, i mean its taken by me. those other #70 imposters from the '06 Nats will have to pick a new number. Quote

King Matt1548534716 Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 No, you can give up your old number and request a new one as long as it is available. Shoot me an email at matt(at)bigwagon.net and I will make the request for you through the regional office. Are you coming to Putnam? Quote

I got to the very last "submit" and had not seen it yet. thanks, chris Quote
Glenn Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 i think it was @ the payment info page. or it could have been after that. it will have your car and driver info and there will be a place to put 3 car numbers. Quote
nape1548534725 Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 People are already registering for Nats? Damn, I need a bigger limit on the Visa... Quote
